I did not have to use a port, although they wanted to put one in at the first session. Fortunately I do have decent sized veins so they did not have too much trouble. They did alternate which arm was “in” and which was “out” each time. However, one of the nurses did note that if I continued with the treatments my veins would begin to develop scar tissue from so much poking, so that is something to ask about.
