Cytoxan side effects

Hi everyone. I had cytoxan treatments once a month for a year about 5 years ago. My neuro has recently restarted the infusions but at a lower dose every second week. The strange thing is I am experiencing completely different side effects this time around. I would really appreciate to hear from others of you on the treatment whether you are experiencing any problems with severe oedema and headaches on the day of and a few days after the infusions?

Also what, if any, pre-treatments do you receive?

I have had my 3rd cytoxan treatment. No headache or swelling. But felt really bad after the last treatment. I get benadryl and zophran before each treatment.

Hi Kerry. Sorry you are also having to do this drug. I know just how bad it can make you feel! They have been giving me kytril or Zofran as pre treatment but no benedryl so perhaps I should ask to try that too. I am very sensitive to alot of the anti-nausea drugs so perhaps some of the side effects are also caused by these.

What dosage are you getting and how frequently Kerry? Are you on any other immune suppressants at the same time? My neuro has kept me on the azathioprine and the pred as well.

Have you noticed any improvement yet? All the side effects will be bearable if it works hey!Lets pray we see some good effects soon!

I go for my 3rd dose on thursday. Yikes! Goodluck for your next one!
