I take Cellcept, and I will from time to time look up information that re-affirms my belief in how I am going about treatment(makes me feel better/gives me hope). I am thankful for the progress I have made, but I need more. We all deserve more.
Anyway, below is what I have been reading about regarding Cellcept today(along with other subjects of interest today). There is quite a bit out there on cellcept. The internet is just awesome! Many individuals know this stuff, but I always like to see what has been written out there. There are some things I was told by my Neuro and so I had known, but not confirmed.
"MMF is a less toxic alternative to azathioprine."
Many folks are aware of this tidbit. I believe that Cellcept is one of the safest treatments we have available(IVIG etc incl), and is also one of the most effective.
"More rarely, various neoplasia occur: melanoma, lymphoma, other malignancies having an occurrences of 1 in 20 to 1 in 200, depending on the type, with Neoplasia in the skin being the most common site."

I have been taking cellcept since Jan. 2009. Seven months ago I started having more problems so my doctor switched me to Methotrexate. The methotrexate caused problems with my COPD and helped contribute to my MG crisis in May. I'm back on cellcept. I agree it is the one med that I do not have any side effects from.
