Music Group Community Group
Wow, I'm so sorry guys! I haven't been active in this group for what seems like years. I just don't get on here like I used to. But, I've decided to get back on here and update a few things. So, I welcome everyone to the music group :)
JourneymanProject1
If you've been following the previous thread that I started you've probably figured out by now that I wish VH1's "My Generation" (the game show, not the series that preceded it) lasted longer than it did. Memories of it are coming back, and I concede at this point I'm trying to find ways to keep myself occupied.
So far I've done song mash-ups based one of the show' speedrounds (there were several during the run and they rotated). For this game, I'm going to use of the show's musically inclined categories....okay, I'm lacking on originality here, but hey.
The category is Gimme Three Steps. I'm going to name three songs by an act, and your job is to name the act. It could be a solo artist or a group. I will try to use the best known song by that act to keep matters fair. Then feel free to post some of your own.
For instance, if the songs I gave you were:
Ballroom Blitz
Fox on the Run
Love Is Like Oxygen
The act I would be looking for is Sweet. I hope that makes sense to everyone.
Now try one on your own. We've got:
Feels Like the First Time
Urgent
Blue Morning, Blue Day

What are the 2 songs of Lynyrd Skynyrd, that you know?
U2!
I knew the songs, U2 is a great band, a big surround sound with heartfelt lyrics
The Voyage
Superman's Song
Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm
To be honest, I've never been big on U2. A few songs here and there, but otherwise I kinda think they're overrated!
Okay, the last song you listed is the dead giveaway song - Crash Test Dummies! That song was so odd, who could help but love it. Reminds me of 9th grade...

Stand
Imitation of Life
What's The Frequency, Kenneth?
U2, overrated I'm not sure if I agree though, I have read that and heard that.. Is it because they are like a
well oiled machine grinding out hits? I like some of their songs but am not a huge fan or anything.
Crash Test Dummies, the song was odd, and yes very lovable!
The songs you posted looked familiar, but could not recall just who, I had to look up
R E M!
You Know Like I Know
Beauty In The River
Dream-o
I think what really sold that CTD song was the lead singer's duck lips during the mmm mmm chorus in the video.
I tried to pick R.E.M.'s bigger hits in each of their decades there (minus mentioning "Losing My Religion" which would've been a dead giveaway I imagine). They're another group where you'd think some of their songs should've charted higher than they did. I mean "Everybody Hurts" was technically a lesser hit in the '90s than "What's The Frequency, Kenneth?" That just seems bizarre to me.
You're new trio I had no clue on so I had to look 'em up. Ozark Mountain Daredevils. Still doesn't ring a bell even after looking them up!

love the Too funky I admit it,its fun, and the last part where the director of the show dances on he runway lol
Have not heard the other two
YES it's O M D
hey that could also stand for Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark too!
okay
What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)
Catch My Breath
People Like Us
LOL at first when I read the line "Yes it's OMD" I was like wait - did I miss something? I didn't recall you mentioning any OMD songs - which I guess is proof I'm an '80s kid with a penchant for new wave/pop since OMD to me means Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark and not Ozark Mountain Daredevils...lol....
Ah your new trio is Kelly Blackstock, better known as Kelly Clarkson (probably best she does stick with the maiden name!)

I did like Freedom!
Yes The OMD is confusing and -I had a reaction too when I shortened Ozark Mtn daredevfils to OMD, I knew of the Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark and recognized that OMD
Yes, Kelly Clarkson is it
Blackstock? oh, right! (PS stay away from those pulp fan mags, they are brutal! lol)

Yours is The Ramones.. I was fairly certain of it but double checked myself to be sure. Had you included "I Wanna Be Sedated" I wouldn't have needed to since it's the only one of theirs I actually know words to beyond the title...
