interesting im left handed and my left side is affected more however i do have right hand pain n numbnees..weird the symptoms are both sides but my left side hurts more and is the weakest..boy i never heard of that but it makes sense

my lesions too are all over the place, not predomonent on any particular side. It figures, because boh sides of my body are affected by MS symptoms.

Actually the brain is cross wired. If lesions are prominent on the left, your right side will be more affected. That is the way it was explained to me. And that is the way it is with me. More lesions on the left and - my right side is dominant and more impaired than the left. The point is moot for me now. I can no longer walk. I don't bother to look at where the lesions are. If equal on both sides I guess you would expect both sides to be troubled. Taking medicine that is neuro-protective may help and may repair so all hope is not lost. That goes for supplements too.

I'm right handed, however my left hand gives me the most issues, with tingling going from the finger tips, all the way up the arm into the bicep, the little finger feels like it wants to jump out of joint most of the time. The right hand has some issues, tingling but more often than not, it stays with in the hand and doesn't travel up the arm. My right leg has the most problems, from the knee down, tingling, pins and needles, drop foot, toes wanting to curl under. The left leg has some issues as well, but not as bad a the right leg.

Around the time of my diagnosis in 98', I had trouble with my left foot; I couldn't straighten/ move my toes so well, Not useing any assistance yet though. So I didn't think much because when I had to go in for a driver's test that week, I was concerned about the right foot n that was still good. so "yay I'm finnnaly gonna drive myself soon!!!YAY!!" Later that week, the gas tank fell out of our rusty old car; so the road tests had to be postponed, I got set up with Greyhound bus tickets, city bus, taxis... and just had to wait.

The next old rusty cheapa&% car my parents picked up; I couldn't see so well out of. I had blind spots everywhere in it! but also Optic neuritis from all the stress of college and the driver's liscence crap! So being that I still had the Greyhound Bus tickets and city bus tickets, I didn't exactly mind too much just being a passenger for the most part; Blah, blah, blah...

Now at 33 when I REALLY decided to just GET the driver's liscence March 2011; my RIGHT LEG started going numb and dead to me! So again the tests were out!
My Neuro gave my the ideas to drive with my "good" leg; I just had to sit differently in the car seat. So O.K. he is right! "I WILL DRIVE just different from everyone else!! This MS isn't keeping me tied down! yay!"
3 DAYS LATER my "good" leg goes dead and numb on me too!! so here I am with the foearm/ MS crutches.

I am right hand and my lesions are on both sides but it is my right side which is affected. Wow! Who knew?

i'm right-handed, but my left side is affected the most. From mid thigh on my leg all the way down to my toes is permanently damaged, but it is from a big lesion on my spine (that's what the doc says, anyway). I have other symptoms on both sides, but they come & go- I assume those are from all my brain lesions. I don't think there is any rhyme or reason to this disease, except it does whatever & we are along for the ride (from hell)!

When it all began it was the left side (left leg, left eye, left shoulder, etc.).

As time has passed and the disease has been progressing (slowly I might add), it now affects both left and right sides with the left side being mostly affected.

Can't win with this stuff! :(

Most lesions are on the left side, but I do have some c-spine lesions as well. MS affects both sides. Right side has the most spasticity and the left side is the weakest.

I am right handed but my left side has always been affected more. Even though I wasn't diagnosed until last year, I had a doctor tell me back in the 80's that my left side was weaker. My largest lesion is on the brain stem with other smaller ones scattered about and cervical as well.
