2 different kinds of ALA.
1.) Alpha Lipiotic Acid (ALA) that is used to reduce inflammation especially R(shaped)-ALA. It is more usable to your body than S-shaped ALA ...kina like how one key will fit a lock but not another.
2.) Alpha Lineolic Acid (ALA) is also a fatty acid that comes from Flaxseed oil (Omega 3) which the body can convert into EPA/DHA (found in fishoil).

This list came from my doc. It was a lot longer but we narrowed it down because expense. He also said that there is no quick fix with supplements but its a long term benefit. Good luck,
