Oh excellent post. I ride the bus alot and when i get on the bus people stare at me im like do u have a problem? would u like a pic of me of me cuz i dont liked ur staring or my alltime fav is i know what my problem is its MS but whats ur problem that makes u so butt f**k ugly? that shuts them up and they never look at me again. kinda rude but it works. gotta do what u gotta do.

It is human nature to look at some thing that is out out the ordinary.

.Things that make make me stare, yet I do not get hit with a cane: any year Fast Back Mustang, older Cameros, any old car that has been restored, pretty much any car that is red or yellow or orange, drop dead knock out blondes, drop dead knock out brunnettes. You get the point.

Yeah, beat me with your cane. I'll look at you to size you up. I am curious as to why you are using a cane. But you better be fast if you want to catch me in my scooter!

see i have a bit of a devilish side and people are so stupid in general, so if i'm feeling feyish, i'll watch them a moment. i can tell when they see me. they blush and take their sweet time blocking the entire aisle. that's when the tap comes.

i actually once ran over someone's foot with my walker. they were standing in my way in a crowded room. there was no way around the person and their friends were trying to make them move. sometimes, people talk really slowly and loudly to me when i use my walker, so i put on this "i'm so lost" face and slowly said, "uh oh" and moved on before i burst out laughing.

i can't believe i'm telling anyone this.

it beats feeling hurt and getting the blues.

as far as sensitivity, well, i think that's the problem. they lack it.

We all have done it..I've done it stare etc but u can't help but get mad when they catch u on a bad day..and pinky bravo bravo that is def suttin I would have said!!! I went to Medicaid office n man did they stare so I told a dude to take a picture it'll last longer .but he said he was looking @my tatts (I have 20 large pieces I'm 60% covered) lol I felt like an ass!!! Lol I was like oooo. Shit sorry lol

I don't think it is sensitivity that bugs people out about being stared at, but what the problem is. I remember when I was little and whenever I'd walk out of a bathroom I would check to see if toilet paper was stuck on my shoe, or later on in life if my make-up messed up while on a date. So when walking with a cane (which I haven't had the privilege of doing yet) and you start getting stared at, I think it would go through my brain as if something might be stuck on my shoe or my make-up f'd up, which is embarrassing to say the least. Combining that embarrassing emotion with the fact that it is just because you are in a chair or walking with a cane people have the right to get pissed.

Unless of course a piece of toilet paper is stuck to the cane or the chair, I would stare at that one, lol!

I was going to write a post and complain that I get stared at too, me with my limping and stumbling. It felt today that when I saw a mom pushing a stroller, she wanted to get away from me. I musta been freaky to her!

And I love people! I don't want them to recoil when they see me and the way I move! :-(

Here is a funny story that happened to my friend when she went to a fancy resturant with her parents...

She was wearing a skirt at the time...

She walked across the dining area of the resturant to use the ladies room. When she got back to her seat (having walked thru the dining area) and went to smooth her skirt b/f sitting in her chair, she didn't feel her skirt. It was tucked up in her p-hose!

So now, I feel better! Sorry Sue!

omg I can't stop laughing...that happened to my grandmother (cane master) at a Sizzler when I was about eight and we didn't know whether to laugh or tell her, lol. She got plenty of stares and then we got yelling for the rest of the day :)
