At my last neuro visit I asked him what type blood I have and he told me he didn't know. Seems strange with all the blood they take, it's not written anywhere. He actually told me he didn't even know his own type. I have a great neuro huh?

Sheesh...but that doesn't surprise me that a neuro wouldn't know his own type. I bet he'd sure argue the hell out of it if another doctor or (GASP!) a technician told him what his type was, since they're so used to arguing with other MDs' reports!

I'm A+, myself, but my parent's each had those rare types that the Red Cross would die for. I wonder if that would make a difference as well? Luv, Julz xoxoxoxo :)

Thanx everyone! Was just wondering if the RH factor had anything to do with MS. I am RH negative and had to have shots when I was pregnant to prevent miscarriage if my babies were RH positive (which they were!). Just doing a little research. It is interesting to see all the O types though! Even the "X" one! rofl!!!

I also have the RH factor and like you, had to get the shots after the first pregnancy. I'm B- I believe. Looks like there are three of us so far that are negative.

From what I've read so far, RH means rhesis (as in rhesis monkey). There is a certain protien in the blood of the rhesis monkey which some people carry (positive) and some do not (negative). I can donate my blood to any blood type, but I can only recieve type O- blood. I was just curious to see if MS attacked a certain blood type, or if maybe having the shot may in some way had an affect on what is going on now. Guess that's just me. . .always trying to find a reason. I guess MS doesn't need a reason.
