I get dizzy and nauseaus if I turn my head to the left and my vision rolls. I have to sleep flat on my back. I have had this before but I don't remember if I was told it was optioc neuritis. I have been under a lot of stress lately and that's usually what precedes it.

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. For me, if eve I have a relapse (I'm progressive), I'd opt for IVig, rather than steroids. I guess the first thing is to find out why you're having these symptoms. Have you tried any meditation or tapping? There's a lot out about all that right now.

(I'm glad you're getting another neuro.)
There are a number of web sites, all pretty much the same, that describe how you can 'cure' these (except they might recur) by lying on your back with your head drooping off the end of the bed. Sounds uncomfortable? It is. Then, with help, you move through a series of positions which you hold for two minutes each, or longer. Depends which site you're reading. These have actually been posted by professionals.
Another tip: while the world is spinning crazily, make yourself stare ahead at just one thing...and the vertigo will go away. I tried it and it worked. Good luck, Lorraine.
