I think we pay .....$35-$40 a month for it and that is full price without insurance coverage for it.

When I started taking it over 10 years ago, it was 35 cents per pill (per day). Since then, the price has gone up to anywhere from 60 cents to just over a dollar, depending on the compounding pharmacy you choose. My issue with LDN is that I have never been able to find a doctor who will prescribe it (military doctors), so I have been relying on a family doctor from my hometown who believes in LDN enough to provide a prescription for me.

Can you tell me if you have had any luck convincing a doctor to take LDN seriously enough to prescribe it for you?

My neuro told me me he thought LDN was a good choice and he would write a script if I ever wanted to try it. I want to try it but with no clear yes you can with Rebif. My neuro says yes but so many articles saying no compared to yes I'm still confused on weather or not it would be a good thing for me or not

I was just wondering if that would be an affordable alternative to the injections if I were to lose my insurance.

I get mine from Skips Pharmacy in Florida. Go to lowdosenaltrexone.org for a list of qualified LDN compounding pharmacies. Skip doesn't take insurance for LDN. It only costs me about $20 per month plus shipping. So, I buy two of three months supply to save on shipping. My co-pay for Copaxone would be about $175 per month.....quite a savings and I think it is a much safer drug and effective drug for me. I took shots for 4 years and I don't miss them for sure. The first time I got Copaxone, it cost my insurance about $1100 per month. In 4 years, it had gone up to almost $6000!!!!! I just cannont justify that amount of increase. Drug companies are making a killing off of some of these drugs.

Have the drug companies given any reason for the price increase. I understand that they need to cover the R and D costs, but why would the increase be this much over the rise in inflation?
