Can someone tell me (in ten words or less) why our doctors won't give us LDN if it will in fact really help us? I am searching for a doctor who will prescribe it for me....and I am really hoping that it helps me...but I am grappling with the fact that my world renown neurologist won't prescribe it for me.....

don't want to get into a tussle but naltrexone and methadone not related yet sometimes used together. my neuro says ldn is too mild to hurt so let me have it

Summary
The use of low-dose naltrexone (LDN) for the treatment and prophylaxis of various bodily disorders is discussed. Accumulating evidence suggests that LDN can promote health supporting immune-modulation which may reduce various oncogenic and inflammatory autoimmune processes.

When I heard a commercial for Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, and the MS Walk post here, I realize Ampyra doesn't take money away from anyone else, you take it With everything else.

LDN would put all the CRABs and Tysabri OUT OF BUSINESS - no more WALKS. The Economy would Crumble.

Can't have that, case closed.

Abstract



Objective:

To evaluate the efficacy of 4.5 mg nightly naltrexone on the quality of life of multiple sclerosis patients.



Methods:

This single center, double-masked, placebo-controlled, crossover studied evaluated the efficacy of eight weeks of treatment with 4.5 mg nightly naltrexone (Low dose naltrexone or LDN) on self reported quality of life of MS patients.



Results:

80 subjects with clinically definite multiple sclerosis were enrolled and 60 subjects completed the trial.

I'm still with you on this Larry...I'd try this for six weeks at least, if I did'nt have to go to Doc and all that tweety...maybe in the Spring or Summer...Why doesn't the LDN company run with ball more it's their Drug????

So, I have my next appointment with my neuro on 3/12....how do I convince him to prescribe LDN for me? I could bring him reams of paper filled with stories of people with MS using LDN and having great success ....but I am sure - he will dismiss them as merely "anecdotal". Any advice would be welcome....

Took me 3 visits back in 2002/3 to get him to write me a script, I told him I WANT THIS and he wrote up a whole sheet of paper stating he's giving me a script Against his better judgment and takes no responsibility for whatever happens, good or bad; then he signed it and made me sign it.

Nowadays his office calls me if/when they have questions they think I can help them with.
