i actually figured out i had mono when i went to the hospital for optic neuritis, which led to the ms diagnosis after it happened again the next year.

looking at the slideshow, i have several of the risk factors, (like almost all of them), which is kind of interesting &unfortunate at the same time

While this is interesting only a few of these apply to me. Besides there should be many more millions if people who underwent similar conditions but do not have MS. These are non specific and cause and relationship factors are not established. The more i think about MS the less I think it is autoimmune. Because immune system is working fine. It is not attacking myelin. It is attacking domething that attached itself to myelin but they are not sure what and cannot find it. Something like an abnormal prion. I think MS is an infection. That us why no medicine can cure it. I wish research looked in a different direction. This is my theory and I will be posting more on that later.

Like Bijoux, most of what is listed doesn't apply to me (although I AM from a high risk state). I have seen most of this before, but thanks for posting!
