If I had mono, I never knew it. After doing some research, I found this article and others that point to Epstein-Barr. I had my doctor do bloodwork to see if I have antibodies...yep, I've got 'em.

I was around a lot of folks in high school that had mono...not really sure how I got MS...but I have heard of the possible connection with Epsten-Barr and MS...lot's of interesting information on the internet about it.

I had my first EBV attack about 2 yrs ago,levels high enough to really put me down for a week with lingering sx for a total of about 3 weeks.I guess I can say I was a bit lucky that it wasn't worse.Thought it was the flu.Saw my GP how ran the EBV test on me and there it was.Yet another dx/sx to add to the ever growing list of aches and pains!

It may have been that it was never tested in the past and not my 1st down fall with EBV at all! This time it was just caught. I have had it re~visit me a few times since.

I had Mono when I was 19. I was very sick and hospitalized for a few days. It took me months to get back my energy. In fact, I don't think I was ever quite the same after that. I was diagnosed with MS at 26 and am now 46. This past year a Naturopath treated me for post-viral syndrome...probably not an accepted diagnosis by MDs? Anyway, he was saying that my immune system is still not dealing well with the EBV is my body. I am doing much better than I was a year ago, but I stopped doing the IV treatments a couple months ago because of the expense (and not covered by insurance). I have just been dragging the past couple of months. I may have to try another IV treatment here again soon and see if it helps. The IVs have nutrients, glutithione and amino acids as well as some homeopathic treatments. Extreme fatigue has been my on-going battle especially for the past 20 years.
