You may or may not know me, but my name is Jesse, and I work here at DailyStrength.
DS received a message asking if this particular support group has any Community Leaders. No, the Multiple Personalities support group does not have any Community Leaders.
We started the adding Community Leaders (also known as "CL's") to some support groups (Depression, Breakups and Divorce, Bipolar Disorder), but not all support groups have Community Leaders.
All CL's have a blue "CL" badge added to their avatar (main profile picture).
A CL has the ability to close a discussion post. This means that no new replies can be added to the post.
A CL does not have the ability to delete a post or ban an account.
While this group does not have a CL, please know that any member can report abuse to DS. To report instances of abuse, click on the "Report Abuse" link, which is located near the bottom of every page on the site. DS Support will then investigate the report, and take the appropriate course of action (of warranted).
I hope this clears up some of the confusion.

Community Leaders are members who have been given the ability to close discussion posts. They also report trends to DailyStrength. Community Leaders are also asked to help greet new members and respond to posts which might have otherwise fallen through the cracks, something which might occur in large support groups (the Depression group currently has over 30,000 members).
The CL program is fairly new waters for us. As I mentioned, we originally had a CL or two in the Depression support group. A few months ago we added Community Leaders for several other of the larger support groups.

We're still figuring what works and what doesn't. We're not certain that all support groups will have CL's, I suppose that depends on if a specific support group wants or needs one. However, we will be sure to let you all know if we begin accepting applications again.
As for moderation, DailyStrength does not actively moderate the discussion boards. Instead, we encourage all members to report instances of abuse. If an abuse report is receive, DS staff will investigate and take the approproate action (if necessary).
As with reporting abuse, we also encourage everyone to greet new members and help other folks out.

I think it is ok that they removed some posts, even if some of them were my own. This whole issue is getting out of hand esepecially since it has essentially been resolved minus some hurt feelings on both sides of the fence.
We (and I mean just our system personally) are letting ourselves be consumed by this even after DS has stated that there are no CL's at the moment and we are ready accept that response and move on.

anyway, the beach thankfully has not been deleted....and in case you think i'm ready for my thorazine i use an air card and can take my laptop anywhere.
the other issue as far as we're concerned is over, and has been. we just need to focus on things beyond ourself right now so are reading everything here. we hope that doesn't make us sound less than sincere - we truly mean what we say and think we should shaddup now and watch the waves...it's a perfect day here wish you all could be here.....(and the snow birds gone)
