Clove oil will relieve some of the pain, and is anti-bacterial. It is used in some OTC toothache potions; full strength repeatedly might make you sick to your stomach.

The health-food store and some phamacies has non-alcohol, hydrogen peroxide-based mouthwashes that often including myrrh as an ingredient. Myrrh has a long history of treating gum and moth disorders as well as internal infections (it seems to enhance the production of white blood cells). You could pick up some of that kind of mouthwash and add maybe ten drops of oil of clove to it. that would help relieve pain as well as hopefully fight the infection.

That sounds so painful. What Whisky said about the clove oil sounds good. When i had my wisdom teeth removed many years ago the doc packed the sockets with gauze soaked in clove oil. He said it was to help with infection. And it tasted good too. It gives you Clove breath!
Hope you feel better soon. Could you swish a bit of diluted peroxide around in your mouth maybe? Just thinking out loud.

whatever you do do. You might want to stick with that rx for at least a week. If that doesn't help, then maybe switch to another idea.
But to do too many things at once might just irritate it more.

I did that with my first bout on my skin. Tried tea tree oil, peroxide, alcohol. I was crazily trying everything I could think of all in the same day. Desperate I was.

try a mils solution of warm salt water and see how that does. it is what we did for sores in our mouth due to teething or biting our jaw but it works fast.

Thank you all..I am trying the cloves mixed with mouthwash to see if it will help with the pain..Had one cut on today to open it it got so big..

For others who dont know yet I got the results from the culture it isn't just mrsa in the mouth it is pyodermagangresnoum..the site is pretty graphic but that is how my arm ate out when I was bitten in May of 97 and now that is on the inside of my mouth..So that is where I am at the moment..Unfortunately bad picture gone worse at the moment..

For any prayers here now would be a good time to remember me..If I dont find the information to take care of this it will be really bad..
It kept eating at my arm for years..thought I was done with it..now this and still positive for mrsa..hard to think about it..I will keep checking back and searching God knows if we dont come up with something..their not..Thanks again!!!

No can't do the steroids we know what that will do..oh me..

Also they won't ever consider the hyperbaric oxygen chamber..Hum if they would have done it before who knows maybe I would not be sitting here in this wheelchair wanting to climb the walls my mouth is so bad..If something dont give I will be looking at IV's and junk again even drinking is difficult..Wow the picture of the leg looks like my arm did..At one time it was from my wrist to above my elbow..But then I wasn't found to have MRSA and we did use steriods..Hmmm..I need a break here..!!!

Well Doctor called back this morning....

Gave him information he said well it's worth a shot nothing to lose at this point..thats for sure..Mouth sore is increasingly getting bigger which makes eathing and drinking almost impossible..

Hopefully this will work if not I am in real trouble here as much as it is growing...

Pain is almost unbearable...Doctor wanted me to rate it.....How do you rate a big hole in your mouth? Tell him what it only hurts when I breathe,eat,drink and swallow..Question was annoying...It's not a matter of how bad it hurts its a matter if they don't get it stopped then WHAT????? That should be the Question of the day..They didn't even suggest anything..So if you hadn't of found this I dare say they still wouldn't be no suggestion......Thanks!!!

Yepper survived the transfusion..to end up with a hole in my cheek plus the many other things that has happened..including the clots..but still here..

You described the hole accurate it's kind of hard to see it through and through not to mention the pain involved and I have two under my tongue just not as bad..I have so many scars here goes one more if I do survive it..It nothing else maybe my memory will stay alive if I don't..and I pray I can go on typing and posting at least..

Well I actually started the potassuim iodide today..Mark your calendars and pray I do Not react because hole is larger..Great if survived nice new scar planted on cheek of face..

Took two doses so far..No immeidate reaction like not breathing..Sick to stomach and elevated heart rate..so far..

Pray TO God this works..!!

Well today is the fourth day of being on it..Still kicking not to high though..

NP thinks it looks some better..

Had to go to dermatologist to get the gangrene debrided..OUCH!!! considering they won't put me to sleep and alleric to numbing medicines.

Now the hole isn't hard to see through!
