I saw my Dr. again and he told me his is getting worried about me. He took another culture and told me if it is indeed MRSA, he was going to send me to an Infectious Disease DR. I have tried Climindaccin, Bactrim, Zyvox, and now back on Bactrim. The Boils healed quickly this time. The Dr. told me that most people would be horrified if they had something that looked like what I had (boil on my MAN parts) I guess I am getting used to the cycle. Redness, Sore, enlarged, very sore, puss head, drainage, open sore, healing. I guess I am glad they heal fast. About 12-14 days from minor red spot to almost healed. Crazy. Everyone keep your chin up as I am trying to do.

When they get the results back from your culture of your abscesses, they should have a list of what antibiotics your culture is resistant to or susceptible to. After trying numerous antibiotics, my infectious disease doctor put me on Doxycycline (which wasn't listed on the lab results) for a week and then I went on it again for a month. I have been very healthy (other than watching my kidney function) for almost four months now. Just giving you a heads up that my infectious disease doctor truly felt that doxycycline (which is also used for acne treatment) really was a good treatment. Also, have you been treated with the Bactroban in your nostrils - seems to be very important also?

I, too, had several painful months of abscesses forming in my genital area and having them surgically drained. It was very painful while going through it, but keep a positive outlook. There is something to say about being postive and the effect it has on healing!

Hopefulonealways, Yes I am using Battroban in the nostrils also. I received a call tody from the Dr. office about the culture. They said that my culture was a MILD case of MRSA, and that it was senstive to Bactrim. I have finished my last round of pills and now all is good. I hope this is it, but I won't be surprised if returns. I am doing the Batorban up the nose and using Hebaclens to wash each day.

Have you tried just draining them as they come? The best treatment is just getting the pus out a couple of times a day. The more antibiotics you take, the more resistanst the bacteria will become. Please be careful. this is a serious bacteria. My daughter is infected again right now. I pray that she heals quickly. I will pray for you too.

I have been able to drain some of them, but several required lancing to get to the core. Otherwise they just get larger and more painfull.

I have had MRSA twice this month the first time they gave me bactrim and it went away and the 2nd time they gave me bactrim again but it only got worse so they had to add keflex.

I hope this works for you I have been dealing with MRSA over 4 yrs..it is so hard..

Please be careful with the Hibecleanse..It caused a severe reaction on me..Also it doesn't just kill the bad bacteria it kills the good too..
