It wasnt until many years later that I was put in a nursing home for rehab and was then told I had MRSA of the lungs and that it was and then I had boils..but I had already had skin leasions for years that was from the bite supposedly and had the pyderma on the left arm..After all that time and they found it in the lungs then I was told I had CA-MRSA!
I have had the picc lines and central lines and vancomycin several times until I finally reacted badly to it..The side effects were horrendous..I thought surely I would die..
I have had many rounds of Zyvox..not allergic bad side effects..and still have MRSA!!!
I too have the purple scars many..Also now the hole in my Cheek!! Another scar if it heals..
MRSA Is really not important to no one it seems except those of us who have it!!
God Bless You All!!
Thankfully my daugher's diaper rash appears to have been just that, it is clearing up-thank God really. I;ve been feeling really healthy the past fewdays, happy even....active...outgoing, and so forth...my skin looks fairly good, minus the folticullitus, which is still healing, but it is healing. I find it interestignthat MRSA leaves a purple residule scar behind...I do not see any of that with my postultes from the folticulitus...just red fading away here and there....
That vancomicyn's side effects sound horrendous-I read that it can cause deafness, I forget the precise medical jargon for it. I've also read in some cases, the patient must be forced into a medial induced coma in order to handle the hard side effects...and even worse, the MRSA generaly reappears!!!!! Great, now your deaf with boils back on your asses...agai, the cure being worse than the cause. That begs the question, where dowe go from here? How does the common man treat this very uncommon illness? I really wish that I knew. I wish none of us had toever experience this nightmare. Be strong in your determinations to fight your ilnness, be forward thinking. Oh yes, and for Amy-I believe be prescribed an antibotic over and over again causes the MRSA bacteria to become ven further resistent against the antibotic. At least tha is what I've read and was told by my various primaries...eventualy the Zyvox will be ineffective unfortunately, over time. That is the key point with MRSA, it is an intelligent germ, a self-mutating and RESISTENT bacteria. It is indeed, a super bug, for now.
I also Amy would be concerned about them having him use the Zyvox like that..When it becomes in effective then there is really nothing else..
I have reached that point after many rounds of it..and still have the boils and it internally..and Zyvox does not kill it..
GGlaw Vanco I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy..I have no doubt what little immune system I had that would have fought this it killed..while almost killing me..
SO now I am down to tring the potassuim iodide..
We will soon shee how it works..
God Bless You All!!!
