Thanks for your reply, it was vry encouraging!!! You may have hit the nail on the head with your personal experiences and observations-these pimples on me more than likely are either mild CA-MRSA outbreaks,that my body naturakly fights off (plus defense soap,manuka soap, and, hibbiclens!!!2xs aday in the shower), or it is a reaction to all of these damned soaps I utilize. MRSA has made me into a hypocondract, but how can you not be knowing you had or still have an illness which can kill you and others around you!!!! I am seeing a dermetologist in June, a two months wait!! These doctor's are sometimes worse than the illness. Thanks again for your input. Oh yes,there were recent studies on blue light's UV rays ability to kill ALL skin-topical MRSA, it worked en vetero (in test tubes). I believe tanning can kill topical MRSA temporarily, but it does leave you exposed to skin cancer and premature aging!!!!

Thanks to everyone for replying to my inital post here. Mar, very very sorry to read about your toddler age's son MRSA condition. I have a daughter who will be turnig three shortly, and that scares me the most, thinking that she could aquire MRSA, or my wife, et al. I hope that your child can recover 100% from this dreaded bacteria. Oh by the way, did anyone catch the Ophra TV show on MRSA yesterday?

Before I got MRSA, it wasnt uncommon for me to get small pimples or in-grown hairs on my back or legs (I had terrible acne as a teenager). Since having MRSA I take each one of these seriously.

Ive been using the extra saline syringes to suck the pimple out; That way if it is a MRSA infection, Im not giving it the opportunity to spread by squeezing it the way I used to take care of these pimples. (not to mention it is a good use for all the extra supplies I received when I had my picc line)
BTW When I had active boils, the syringes were also useful in draining the puss. I would touch the tip of the syringe to the open boil, and pull back on the plunger till it has a good grip on the puss and then pull the chunk out. I was able to remove puss chunks the size of dimes this way, and with a minimal amount of pain, and no trip to the IDs office.

Also a tip about the UV light as I mentioned above, Ive been using a UVc light to sanitize the various rooms in my house, but make sure you remove any pets, house plants, etc before you turn the light on. (Ive just killed all of my wifes house plants.)

PJ you are a trip, thanks for the response. I take every unusual "pimple" on my anatomy deadly serious-thus far, they aparently seem to be just what they look like, pimples. I haven't experienced a painful boil or carbuncle since last summer, thankully. I recomend that you do not treat your boils/pimples yourself-a DR should do any form of lancign for you-you may actualy cause the infection to go deeper into your skin, and eventualy, into your bloodstream-AVOID THAT AT ALL COSTS!! U do not want HA-MRSA, trust me! Stay well.

I two have recently been diagnosed with MRSA and have had it for a month and a half. I about 3 weeks ago started getting pimples and Jock itch really bad to the point I thought I was a teenager again. My mom reminded me of one thing, that when I was a teenager I washed my growing for the jock itch with betadine, and jock itch spray and gold bond it cleared mine up but I also am getting the boils ans pimples etc. My Dr told me to get hibiclens and wash with that from head to toe.

The jock itch usualy is caused by extensive use of antibotics. Be cautious using the hibiclens for too long, I believe a week is sufficent with a week away from it, if the boils, etc..return go back to another week of utilizing hibiclens...I overused the product and it irriotated my skin...overuse of anything will cause MRSA to become resistant to it.

Well gan, aparently, after several cultures over the past several months, I appear to be MRSA free. I haven't had it officaly diagnosed positive for about a year now. No more boils, carbuncles, et al. However, there is always acatch when being treated excessively with strong antibotics over extended periods of time, which I was from May of 2008 to last month...I developed a bacteria that although not fatal, is problematic causing me at first jock itch, proceeded by folticulitus. And most revently, a male yeast infection, can you imagine? I feel like a dame (sorry ladies). My dermetologist wanted to put me on ciipro for two weeks, which I cannot, as I am allergic to it...the next solution was bactrim, HEL NO!!! I had the worst adverse sideffects of my life on that crapola...never again...So, they are placign me on a child's ear infection topiacl antibotic cream for a few weeks-minimal sideffects and sensativity tested i nthe lab to killt his bacteria (I do notrecall the bacteria's name). I hope that wen all this is said and done, that I am not only MRSA free, but bacteria free as well...Have ay of you experienced similar long last timne side effets from usign bactrim, etc to initaly fight MRSA? I am curious...I feel damn good though, I praty for all of you to beat MRSA. Aparently, in some cases it can occur. I thuoght that it was impossible, but again, aparently not.
