This community focuses on children (of any age) who no longer have a mother in their lives, whether as a result of death or extended separation. A mother plays a crucial role in both early childhood development as well as support throughout one's life. How is your life affected by the lack of this integral relationship?

Tuesday would've been mom's 55th birthday, I got a memorial tattoo for her. Last night I ended up crying for hours, I know I can't just pretend she isn't really gone anymore. It's heartbreaking to know she'll never be at my wedding, that its possible she never got to even meet whoever I and up marrying, I'll never get another hug, never hear her annoying laugh again, and never really got to say goodbye.

This is very difficult, I know. Losing a loved one is never easy, especially mom. Memories are what brings us comfort in times like this. I never got to say goodbye to my mom or dad either. Wish I could have. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Anniversaries, birthdays and holidays are tough too.

My husband and I got our foster license last month, after 3 years of hard work (we had to start over multiple times due to family dramas and Mom's open heart surgery). We spent a year preparing the whole house, guest rooms, and children's bathroom for older kids of 7 yr old and up. Then we got a call that we have been approved to receive twin newborn premies.
