I am 44 years old. after 3 healthy children (ages 9 through 18) I found out I was pregnant.it was not planned, but it was very wanted.
It wasn't meant to be I suppose, I was told the baby had trisomy 22 that affected every cell in her body and that even if I carried her to term she would be still born.
I couldn't bear that, because I had been there before. I had a stillborn when I was 24 yrs old
I ended up having to have a d & e at 4 months of pregnancy. I cant get over this pain.
Has anyone ever heard of trisomy 22?

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
I've not heard of it. I had a friend who had a little girl that seemed perfect with every test and scan they had. She was born, and was very sick. They flew her to a specialized hospital, and then found that she had trisomy 13. She died two days later. She still agonizes over that - wondering if it would have been better to not go through all of that, for her... and would it have been better for natalie (the baby) as well? She doesn't have any idea.
I can't even imagine having to make such a horrible decision - one that seems to have absolutely no right answer. My heart aches for you, and your daughter, and husband. I'm so sorry this happened, and i wish I could say something that would help, but I don't think that I can.
