Menopause Support Group
Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.

I am new to this community and was just wondering if anyone else has problems with sleeping? Before I quit having a cycle I would only have sleep problems near my period but now that I have finished I cannot sleep without waking up all night. I go to bed and get up the same time so I can't modify that. I sleep with the room cool. I take melatonin. I have reverted to Benadryl also. I went to the doctor and she would not give me any sleeping pills because they are addictive. What is a person to do? You have to have sleep to function everyday! I guess I do need to get another doctor but I was just wondering if you ladies can tell me if this is a problem for you and what do you do about it? Thank you!

The GYN was also into alternative methods, but said my bloodwork showed me so far into the meno range, and with my sleep loss, things like cohosh etc. wouldn't be enough, soon enough.
So what I had to do about it was, see a BHRT-friendly GYN.
