Menopause Support Group
Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.
Wish I could be that lucky. I'm guessing your near the end. You've got to be at this point I would think. I'll keep you in my prayers. Hopefully someone here can help you a little better.
Donna
I read somewhere else you were asking about the strange feelings throughout your body. I seem to get the crawling skin mostly in my right leg from ankle to knee in the front when I lay down to go to sleep at night. Not sure what that's all about. Just another freak thing of peri-meno I guess.
I also get those flash floods you speak of. I can't even go anywhere the 1st 2 days I have it because it gets so bad. These last 2 cycles have been a tad better so I'm hoping I'm nearing the end. My mom stopped at 52 and they say that we're a lot like our mother's so I'm praying I follow in her footsteps as far as this goes.
Hope your having a better day today. I know you've been on here for a while and have had more than your fair share of problems. I think of you often and pray it's soon over for you.
Take Care, Donna
Sometime this will happen woman hit the postmenopause directly after the age of 60. Don't worry dear. even my grandmother hits the menopause at the age of 65. Don't be panic. Take care and live healthy.
Although this is part of my everyday life, I try not to dwell on it. I have to much I still want to do before I go so I need to hurry. I don't have time to wait for my hormones to settle down. lol
Do you feel ANY relief since you've been going through this? I've been feeling a little more like myself the last few months but we all know that could change with a blink of the eye. Just hang on to your good days and know (hope) that one day soon "most" of your days will be like that. Try to focus or concentrate on all the good days ahead instead. You, like the rest of us, will make it through this tough time. Unfortunately, some of us are getting a little more on our plates than others. I feel that God is building me up for something BIG ! ( I hope it's a good one)
Take Care, Donna
I'm 31, yet thirty one, not a type-o and I've been perimenopausal (sp) for at least 4 years, probably more, so I share your frustration at the drawn out aspects of things.
And those hellish periods I get those after 4months of nothingness.
As far as hormones, hahahahahah
HORROR-MOANS!
I've known of women who've not completed menopause until 58 or so, it's not all that uncommon.
And they try to tell us all this magic number of 35...don't get me started.
And this might go on for me until I'm in my 50s (there's no way of telling) as it's not true menopause but premature ovarian failure.
Joy oh Joy.
I'll still be here when you're in your 60s thou
Xx
Try not to despair...I'm 54and still going through the period " mystery game" will I have one , or will I not? This has been going on since I was about 49... I can go all the way til 9-10 months without one, thenBAM. There it is. It is much lighter and will only last a day, but with cramps before it starts...just like when I was regular. Doc is not concerned. I was actually signing on today to ask if anyone is having boob issues, but you seem to be experiencing the same heavy feeling in both with more pain in one than the other. Guess we should just try to focus on what's good in life and it will happen when it happens, huh? You are not alone!
