Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.

I'm 56 and still not through menopause is anyone else on here my age and not through menopause ? Just started again a few mins ago June 7th 2013 breast pain constant in one breast all tho both feel heavy for last few days! Is anyone still not brought menopause at 56??? I'm worried about this ! My last period in march was flooding extremely heavy please pray this one not get like that , let me know if anyone else is not through menopause at 56 or am I the only one?

sobe, the horrors of what is allowed in food here in USA is beyond disturbing.
I cannot fathom the reality that I actually have to research the food we buy.

Kellogs, say no!
Kashi GMO
Corn and agent orange
Chicken almost orange (corn again)
Pesticides sprayed on and in the meat
RED-40 injected to make it look neat
Arsenic in my baby's formula, that one was organic too
but I quickly flushed it down the loo.
I bought a mattress it almost killed me,
My liver near packed up, could have killed me
I gained this fat in 2008 the year I moved to the USA
the following year I have POF now I feel like a POW in a body that's hungry with plenty in store.

We do our best to avoid what the FDA allow, I really don't know how they get away with it.
If it's illegal in Scandanavia, Europe and Singapore, why are Americans treated so poor.

"Clean" drinking water in every well, that is full of round up and god knows what else.

What I don't find acceptable is that the American populous is treated worse than Animals in almost every other country as far as what is allowed in and considered 'food'.

Would you like some petrochemicals to wash that down with? No!

Periods until turning 56. My OBGYN said it was not unusual...she even had clients through age 58. 51 is the average age for menopause. However, if you're having heavy bleeding, you should be checked by a doctor. You could have fibroids. That was the cause of my heavy bleeding around age 50. A D&C solved that issue and I felt so much better afterwards. Had actually become anemic due to the heavy periods.

I am with you, I was still having HORRIBLE periods at age 54, thankfully I have not had one for a whole year now. However menopause is still a nightmare. Good Luck, and please do not feel alone.

I am 53 and I am post menopausal over two years. At age 49 my period stopped for six months then it came back for one month with a bang. It's not unusual to be still having a period at your age. I have two friends age 53 and 54 and they are both having regular periods every month.
