Menopause Support Group
Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.
I was fortunate to never have had hot flashes but the list of 35 sympstoms you presented above are all too familiar.
I have been given every med known to man kind in the Doctor's desperate attempts at looking competent and have come to the conclusion that menopause is pretty much it for woman who are inflicted with this hideous "Disease" and yes I call it a disease.
The worst of all of these symptoms is the lack of labido.
If a man's ego is connected to his sex drive, then all people being pretty much equal...a woman feels less of a woman without hers.
Alot of the doctors out there will tell you that there is no connection between menopause and labido...I say...bull. Not every woman is the same just because she has estrogen or the lack there of, coursing through her veins. It saddens me to read so many stories of discomfort on one site from so many different women.
And why is it that they have come up with drugs to improve the already raging labido of a man and they have done nothing to ease our silent suffering? How many marriges have failed because of this?
I still suffer with this. As near as I can tell, I probably always will. Insurance isn't a cure for medical bills. Continuing to see doctors only to get the same result would be considered by most people, a form of insanity so I have chosen to let the chips fall where they may, do the best I can every day of my life to live as comfortably as I can and bide my time in the hopes that one day, some doctor out there, is gonna finally figure this all out.
I truly think they confuse perimenopause with menopause.
I've read that low libido in women is caused from testosterone deficiency. Here are some of the symptoms:
Decreased libido
Impaired sexual function
Decreased energy overall
Decreased sense of well-being
Thinning pubic hair
Solutions and products can come in the form of DHEA supplements, bioidentical vaginal cream, and even patches. Might be worth looking into so YOU can "treat" your symptoms instead of relying on these braindead doctors.
I hope this helps.
I'm really happy I found you guys because listening to all of you has made me realize I am not alone and I am not crazy.
I started with menopause symptoms 8 years ago so off and on I've had ALL of the symptoms you mention. The hot flashes and night sweats were the first to hit and they were so bad I thought I had some kind of rare tropical disease. I would wake up soaking wet and I'd have to change clothes at least 3 times during the night.
Most of the physical symptoms are gone now but when my mother passed away a few months ago i began having extreme depression, anxiety and panic attacks. This is absolute the worst! I'd take hot flashes, fatigue, mood swings any day.
I am 51 years old now and I'm wondering.... when will it end?!?! They say on average symptoms last from 2 to 10 years so I'm just waiting and waiting.....
Thank you for listening this list!!! I wish I would have seen this Dec 2009 of last year!!! I could have save $12,000 in medical bills!!!
