Lyme Disease Support Group
Lyme disease is the most common vector-borne disease in the Northern Hemisphere. It is now one of the fastest growing infectious diseases in the U.S. Lyme disease is caused by infection with the Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria, and is primarily transmitted to humans as well as dogs, horses and other domesticated animals by the bite of infected ticks.
Another thing we use is Green Vibrance powder, it has a bunch of minerals as well as probiotics, we put it in a smoothie. Our LLMD said to take these probiotics either an hour before taking antibiotics, or 2 hours afterward, so that they are not both in the stomach at the same time. The green vibrance powder is more expensive, $60 I think for a 2 month's supply online at amazon.
Taking more than one type of probiotic, or taking a mix of probiotics, would decrease the chance that the antibiotics would kill off the beneficial bacteria I would think. Antibiotics don't kill off ALL bacteria or else one kind of antibiotic alone would be enough to kill of Lyme (and it isn't). Many Lyme patients have TERRIBLE GI issues and probiotics have helped so many.
Is your naturopath an LLMD?
Anyhow, hope this is helpful.
