I am going to be a special case when determining if I have lupus(which my heart says that I do. I just know it with my history, and all of my symptoms). I was born with a disorder that's auto immune, so any lab test done that would come up positive will do so. My disorder is called kilppel trenaunay syndrome, which causes so many issues in itsself that lupus also causes but then the lupus also causes additional problems. Only thing is if those particular areas have not been affected, tests on them would not show anything(IE.Brain, heart, lungs, kidneys for example even though I have had kidney problems off and on for years). I get discoid rashes off and on and break out in rashes on my face, neck, breast area and arms but right now I do not have one.
For those who are more familiar than myself, what other tests would they do other than the ANA test that like I said would come up positive on me anyway? I mean I could possibly have other tests show something that I may not be aware of. I know that my brain MRI was normal, as was a short EEG. EMG/nerve conduction study was abnormal. I do have neuropathy. I have a nystagmus too.
I have arthritis, horrible muscle pain, extreme fatigue, history of kidney problems whether it be infections or blood in my urine with no signs of infection. Well I wrote a journal entry here on my profile with a detailed list of my symptoms. I also need to add that back in 1990 I had a hemmorhage. I received 6 transfusions. It was post partum. No explanation as to why it happened. My blood would not clot. I also had pleurisy at the age of 17. I get chest pains off and on, a racing heart rate, and my heart gallops and feels as if it skips beats with a feeling that it wants to come up out of my chest. I am going broke seeing Dr's right now, and I am sure that I need to see even more specialists. I have good ins. I have a PPO, so I could start making appt's with specialists. I wish that just 1 Dr. would at least set me up to get the tests, and if anything comes back abnormal then I could make any appropriate appt's with what ever specialist that I need to see at that time.
