There are only two ways your SO would be able to move over here. A work visa is one (which is very hard to obtain in the US) or getting married through the K1 visa process. Without knowing anything about your relationship, I wouldn't know which one (if any) works best for your respective situations at the moment. Be sure to do your research.
from the reading i did on visas for US .. you guys need to physically meet before you can go ahead with applying for fiance visa or import a spouse visa. So you can have physical photos together etc. That is a non negotiable for those visas...
So what would she need for a visitor visa? NZ has a visa waiver so i could gain entry for three months without any visa. But I have a B1B2 visitor visa which allows me to stay for up to 6 month, but NOT work. Be careful of visa fraud which is getting entry with one visa and then getting married over there kind of deceitfully and then filing for visa change status...you are really meant to get the fiance visa first ad like I said you can't without meeting first.
Maybe it is easier for you to visit her in the pilippines first?
Yes the visas for US can be overwhelming..but not impossible. Just a lot of red tape. but if you found your special someone...well worth it?! Break it down into steps I would suggest..
1. Get teh right visa for a visit.
2. visit. and decide if there is a future.
3. IF there is start the paperwork for either fiance visa or spouse visa (spouse visa if you get married but she will still have to return to her home country and wait for the visa before being imported as a spouse)
all the best!
To the OP, you definately need to meet (on more than one occassion) in order to even begin filing the paperwork for the K1. They require dated photos (where they can distinguish both parties clearly), copies of flight intineraries, hotel receipts, etc....all things of that nature that are solid evidence that you've met recently and that you are in fact a REAL couple.
And just from a practical standpoint...you obviously should meet before the discussion about marriage and relocating even comes up.
as someone who has lived in the eastern world, u need to kno that lots of women from the far east look for men in the US to marry so that they can move out and get the nationality then they ditch them... sometimes they are NOT SINGLE....they might be lookin for a better life... i have heard about similar stories... be careful.. and take care... she might be so sweet, i am not judgin her... but take care...
