Happy new year everyone.
However for me, its same old, same old. The new year never rings in on a positive note for me and sets the tone for another lonely and sad year to come. Everyone I know is off this new years eve, and some don't really have plans. I have reached out to everyone, yet no one wants to spend it with me. They have flaked on my requests. So, once again, I am alone. I have no one I can depend on, no one that demonstrates that they actually care for and value me. This is how I feel about it anyways. I am considering going to the bar by myself. However, I always feel so uncomfortable doing this because I feel completely pathetic sitting at the bar by myself. Especially because I am shy and introverted. It is hard for me to approach others, and to maintain an interesting conversation. I just don't know what to do. I don't want to sit at home alone... but I also don't want to sit at the bar and be a pathetic lump while everyone around me has a good time, except for me. Either way, it is destined to be a terrible night and start to the year ahead. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Do you like being the center of attention?

you care about. Join a singles social group. Get therapy.. It's extremely hard
when you're shy. Group therapy and individual therapy helped me. Plus a
lot of uncomfortable, hard work. But it was sure better than staying like I was.
without therapy with a special therapist. She also had me in group therapy. I eventually made
a friend at a singles group. And my Aunt told me about and paid for dating service.
This was in the days before internet. They first person I was matched with eventually became
my husband. So don't give up.
