Loneliness Support Group

Me and the television are practically having a relationship. It's on to keep me company will I'm online most evenings. It's a very solitary and probably not very healthy lifestyle. But it feels safe. I wish I was healthier.

I am not ashamed to admit that tv is my friend & until a few months ago I kept it on all the time as a distraction - you can always find a good Law & Order, right? But lately I have spent more time in the quiet & actually feel better. I do watch - a whole lot! - but mostly just what I actually want to see & I mute the commercials. By the way, beanie, I'm a big fan of Destination Truth. Josh Gates cracks me up! And, goalie, Stephen King is my favorite author. Today I watched all of season 1 of "The Big Bang Theory". I don't usually care much for the comedies on tv but it makes me laugh out loud the whole time!! As long as I can find things that make me laugh & ask questions & yell at the characters, I will enjoy.

I love my TV. The only time I have it off is when I read and study the Bible.

Same here. I have my tv on most of the time. It's actually on right now... there's nothing good on so I'm also on here. There are certain shows I like to watch, otherwise it's just on. Usually cause I'm bored or don't feel up to doing anything. I wish I was healthier too.

I stumbled upon this group by accident, but I feel that I can completely relate to everything that everyone is saying on here. TV has always been a source of support and comfort for me, but I have never thought that this was out of the ordinary. I completely hate being alone and I hate silence, so my TV is on 24/7. I can barely fall asleep without it and I feel as if my quality of sleep is awful unless I sleep with the TV on or at least fall asleep with it on. I also live in a college dorm where everyone has a roommate and I was fortunate enough to get a room to myself which is awesome but it gets so lonely without having a roommate to hang out with and talk about things with. I have plenty of friends and I live in a house with 35 other people but when I am alone in my room I feel an immense amount of loneliness for some reason and having the TV on in my room really helps me with this.

Woke up feeling very emotional and about to clock in at my place of employment. And can't place it all in writing but not been a good experience with my store manager or his boss. Defamation of my character is a concern. I've been losing appetite and weight. Trying to perform at work to keep myself from hospitalization as a result of toxic masculinity.

I'm feeling down,, and got alot on my mind right now. I got grief going on, on top my depression and anxiety and now I got to worry about somewhere to live since I can't afford living here since my mom passed. So many bad things have happened since my mom passed. One thing after another it seems. Yesterday our fence fell from a storm that hit, had to call someone to prop it up. Thank...
