Loneliness Support Group
Loneliness is an emotional state in which a person experiences a powerful feeling of emptiness and isolation. Loneliness is more than the feeling of wanting company or wanting to do something with another person. Loneliness is a feeling of being cut off, disconnected and alienated from other people. The lonely person may find it difficult or even impossible to have any...
Having a rough night tonight. My oldest son is deployed, my youngest is with his father who I am separated from, my mom has dementia and my relationship with my father her caretaker is superficial at best. Tonight my little dog broke her leash ran past me and bit a neighbor- I mean the neighbor said she did and was worried about her immune system because she has cancer- so I brought rubbing alcohol and bandages back to her- but my dog has never bitten anyone. The neighbor refused the rubbing alcohol and took two bandages- the bite looked big for a papillion mouth. It was all so odd. I told my father who told me it was my responsibility to keep the dog from this (ok she was on a leash that broke and has never bitten before?). On top of all that we had a call with the prosecutors office about my uncles case- he was murdered- and it sounded like they want to take the plea deal offered where his killer would plead guilty to murder and the other charges but no enhancements whigh would prevent him from eligibility for parole. It will be on me to keep this man behind bars. In 20 years it will solely be on my shoulders. I am alone and overwhelmed tonight.
im not sure if the dog or the thought of dealing with the parole board annually has me more upset. Anyhow I'd appreciate just a word or two with anyone on here who won't blame me for my dog unleashing herself...

It's been some time since my last post...sorry. I've been going through a challenging time with the sale of my home, purchase of a condo and my adult asperger son that lives with me. I've had days where I couldn't get out of bed, days where I stayed in my pj's and days where all I managed to do was eat, drink fluids and take care of my Sweet Mia kitty. Sweet Mia came to me from a shelter about...

If I come to DS and it won't do anything when I click "Login", I go to a post, click and then click "Leave a Reply". Then it will let me log in.Of course, sometimes DS just goes to "Error 504". Then I can't log in.

I'm sorry that you've not got the needed support to deal with Mom, Very Hard...I help a woman who is 84 care for her partner of 20 years who has dementia. On top of having to deal with Dad and his views.
What I came to after many years was forgiveness for my parents for all that was not done, nor given to me as a child/young adult...they can't give what they never got, they can't give what they don't know how to give and they both carried the pain of their lives both being alcoholics.
For my own sanity, I try to stay with what I can have control over, what I need to accept and what I need to adapt to as I age and with relationships. I know for sure I can't make someone do something they don't want to do, and I can't change anyone with my words...the changes need to come from them and their desire to grow as a person.
As for your little dog and the neighbor, how horrible and I do hope the two band aids will be the end of that drama!
I watched a horrid documentary on frontline about plea bargaining vs trials...what an eye opener to our justice or should I say "lack of justice" system. I do hope the court will be diligent with their judgements.
Perhaps a local senior center might have some info on support systems for dementia, to give you a break and some feed back on how to make your life easier...if that is possible.
Please do keep in mind to care for yourself, keep hydrated, sleep, and good food...perhaps facing the sun to feel it's warmth despite the winter season...do something kind for yourself <3
Peace and Healing to You and All Involved <3
I hope things settle down. The dog biting is not your fault
One day at a time is all you can do and hold on to hope for better days ahead
