"get happy"--judy garland song i put on repeat, along with dick van dyke's "put on a happy face"---maybe such songs are finally kicking in.
all the cults who are able to get members to work for free, or donate money----but other people cant brain wash themselves to be happy.
(nice photo; i feed 2 lookalikes that hang around outside)

If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life marry an ugly wife! LOL 8-)
as if I am happy. I've never experienced it. But I like your idea.
Sometimes it's best to hold on to the little things and those things can add up until a significant amount of happiness. It's how I've coped through my entire life.
But in the last 2.5 years my health has deteriorated, and the mental have crept in. So I am sorry despite amazing support from friends and family and trying everything to get help. Saying be happy just doesn't work anymore. It's just 1 too many kicks in the guts for me.
Good luck everybody
Thanks

take care. maybe this site will help you a bit, mentally.
It seems like part "fake it till you make it" and it also reminds me of the Buddhist idea (can't find the exact quote) that the source of unhappiness is wanting things you don't have. I hope you and your kitties have a nice week.
i have two $20 walmart saucer chairs for complete living room furniture, which is enough for me---though would be nice for me to actually get to sit in them; i am glad my old cat is grooming himself in one, after he was sick.
