Loneliness Support Group
Loneliness is an emotional state in which a person experiences a powerful feeling of emptiness and isolation. Loneliness is more than the feeling of wanting company or wanting to do something with another person. Loneliness is a feeling of being cut off, disconnected and alienated from other people. Greetings everyone,
I just joined the group yesterday and wanted to say hello.
I have been dealing with a lot over past 5 years and my answer was to try and handle it all by myself becasue when I try and share with my friends I sometime feel as though they don't understand or are too wrapped up into wanted to share what's on thier mind that they try to analyze me based on a part of what I said without even listing to hole statement/conversation.
I know that I have somewhat found comfort in being myself but now I think I am ready to venture out and do something different and it is really hard to make the first steps to make a change.
Every weekend I say I am going to do something that I tend to not go anywhere.
I have been trying to open my heart to my family but sometimes what's really on my mind I am afraid to discuss it because I amm afraid that they won't listen or maybe understand or they may judge me..which make me isolate my self even more.

It would have been working at a university supporting high school students who are taking college classes. I did a mock interview with a friend and prepared extensively. It was at the university that I graduated from. I was very excited...

The bravest thing I did when I was there was that i went to a restaurant by myself. Oh was that a bad feeling!!! But, the waiter saw me by myself and he made sure he talked to me and made me feel comfortable. I gave him a nice tip! Take a trip for yourself, someplace you've never been, it will give you a lot of courage and strength to do more!
@Barry. Thank you. I will definitely keep in touch. It's nice to know that I am not alone.
@Kekse--that's good to know. I need somewhere I can got those things off my chest. They have been bottled up for soo long!!
@Maria718---thanks for the advice. I will have to work on that!!
