hard to have no family around

Hello , My name is Alex. I am an dialysis patientand liver disease for two years. My mom passed away last year of an stoke. my grandparents died in 2011 and my favorite uncle was murder in 1994. these were the only people i loved and care about that matter to me. Everyone else is a P.O.S. I have an sister i do love but disappear in the face of the earth. while growing up going through these losses , i try to make the best out of things. Right no i only have a friend that i know for 20 years and like a brother and my best female friend from jr high school also know for 20 years +. MY circle is very small but in a way good , less drama and issues. I am single and don't want to date cause i fell that she wouldn't understand my situation. I was enaged but didn't work out. I am trying to meet people that only understand where i am coming from. I don't want to waste any one time. I don't play games. i want to stay drama free from all bull. I do try going out to forget the issues i am going through. well thats all for now. thk u for reading.

Me too. 8 years ago I had an accident leaving me with a spinal injury, spasticity and double incontinence. I have not been out of my home for these 8 years except half a dozen visits to hospital. I have not seen a family member since my father died in 1993 but I do have a few good friends, mostly ex-work colleagues who visit me. You are right: understanding by others is so important in reducing the effects of loneliness. If I were able to go out it would be a big help. Good luck.

I agree with you about not wanting to deal with drama. It is so exhausting.

I can completely understand and totally relate my mom passed away two years ago my daughter who is my only child is married and moving 1500 miles away from where we live I have no siblings I have a few cousins that I’m not close with and basically I’m down to about one friend that has known me for over 20 years I am very lonely I’ve had a series of failed relationships and lost a few friends along the way and I find myself basically alone so I do understand and it is frustrating and it is sad but you are not alone here in the space and there are people here who understand you as I’m sure they understand me so all the best to you and feel free to reach out to this group there are a lot of people here who care
