You would have been suspended by now. Trust me, it doesn't take that long. As far as I can tell there are no moderators on this board like bipolar and depression have so someone would have to report you and that doesn't seem like it has happened. And then you would get a suspension first.

I consider myself very liberal leaning, but I don't have sympathy for abusers. I don't think they should be strung up and hung in the town square for all to watch... Cause that's just disgusting and promotes others to become violent criminals as well. But I think whatever shit that happens to them, they brought on themselves. IMO, child molesters and sex offenders should get life sentences.

I'm not the type of liberal the media likes to make out to be the devil and a idiot. I just believe in equal rights, fair trade, equal pay, helping the poor, etc etc. I know that's probably deemed evil to some people. But I think if you're a law abiding citizen, you should have the same rights as ever other law abiding citizen even if you happen to be poor and they rich.

I do get a bit paranoid about this site, after being warned once...and there does seem to somebody for whatever cause they want to defend.

I'm glad that I can at least return to a more superficial outlook of my environment.

A problem for me is to talk to the wrong people -- who can't get me into trouble directly....

But get me feeling sorry for them. (Y'know, solitary people can be *too* outgoing ... ) And eventually I'm in a situation when I *have* to keep my distance but it gets sticky when they realize I am cutting them off.

So the advice IS, get to know something about them before more than giving them the time of day. Sad but true.

Dreadful. We have a situation something like that, in the Seattle area. These men are convicted child molesters, and the city or some agency working with the City of Seattle, put those guys here.

Here, as in where they are free to approach others, and one of those others is a very young boy.

They have eyes on them all the time; if they make a wrong move, the neighbors are ready to react.

As a sick side note, their photographs and a summary of their crimes is available on-line, and some group sends us Warnings after another Child Molester has been freed and they put his photo, everything, up for all to see.

there are numerous group homes in my neighborhood, mostly just apartments with maybe 3 people living in them, usually by themselves, with no supervision.

There's no more blind than who don't want to see. My statements do not cancel any of the points you are making. However, it's ridiculous to expect that you are doing a good job at protecting yourself by trying doing so ONLY from the homeless (just because they are homeless) and ONLY from people who have been prosecuted for sexual offenses.

Yes, you should protect yourself from ANYONE, homeless or not, convicted felon or not, from harm. Trying to look at people and try establish a pattern of distinctive things that makes them look like criminals is just ludicrous.

And LoveAlice, there's no need for foul language. You don't need to curse to make a point and express your emotions. Furthermore, not everything you read and hear is going to be to your liking. I'm sure people don't kill themselves over that because the planet would be empty if that was the case.

In no way shape or form do i condone or feel sympathy for any offender, sex or otherwise. Some offenses are more damaging than others.

The point is that people stupidly think that by denying rights and services to the homeless and offenders, sex offenders or otherwise, they are doing a good thing. That's where people need education. Providing a service to a person that has an offense of any kind is NOT condoning their behavior.

Now take a look at the Survivors of Sexual Abuse group and read people's experience and try to find one (just one) of a person who was sexually abused by an unknown, random homeless person. If you find one, you'll see that the majority of the child molesters were family members, clergy, neighbors, teachers, etc, that is, people that they survivors knew.

That's the reality. Yes, watch out for the homeless, but watch out for everyone else too.

if it were me and i thought that possibly someone may have suffered at the hand of an sexual offender I would not try to correct and lecture the injured person but rather I would try and find out what THEY need to survive and cope with the after effects. I would only promote sex offender rights and services in a place where it would be received to some degree. Nobody really knows why people get really upset on here over certain sensitive subjects but we should all have common sense as to when to disengage from a conversation to prevent further injury to a victim rather than pridefully trying to get the last word in and come out on top being right supposedly. Being recognized as right should not be our greatest desire in life but rather bearing up the wounded and down trodden should be our goal whether we feel others should listen to us or not or whether we have a degree or not or whether for whatever reason we feel more qualified or not. Hurting people that are wounded don't care about what you think is right. They care about THEIR pain and if you disregard their pain they will completely and utterly disregard you.

That's a good point eyeslave...but this movement by child molesters to not have a list based on it "revictimizing" the perp, because he/she already did his time...I've heard this spin. I've heard the list doesn't really prevent future molestation. It may be true. But obviously this movement is concerned about the child molester, not the molested, who's lives have been changed forever. They want to move on like it never happened, but seemingly have no concern about the child victim moving on with their life, and no appreciation of the ugliness, shame, fear and mistrust that has been thrust upon them by the molesters selfish self serving nature.

Penn is a good man and sees things through his own eyes, making them very valid concerns. I've know him much longer than my start date shows, and know him well. If ever he made a mistake, in was in the not following the status quo of the political correctness watchdogs.

I enjoy reading Penntucky's posts. I'm from rural PA and can assure you people are very much like he describes. My chiropractor just told me this past week that his first patient was a fine grandfatherly type, had a very nice way about him and he really liked the guy. He found out later the guy was a child molester. You just never know.and the ones you think look completely weird, aren't. About the tire thing, I had something like that go on with my battery. The guys kept trying to get my car running all kinds of different ways, they pushed it around to catch it in gear, they hammered on the starter with a crowbar, when it was obvious the thing wasn't getting any juice from the battery. I told them the wire on the battery terminal was loose, but they knew better.

My ex, EX, husband sexually abused my granddaughter, his step granddaughter and no-one in the family could see what was happening until my Ashley finally came to me and told me what was going on. No-one is to be trusted as far as I'm concerned. The story is very long and I would share it with anyone who needed to here it, but as far as I'm concerned, don't trust anyone anymore, NOT even family members, in fact, especially family members!
