I don't like facebook but to answer your question yes you can set up a facebook page....

I have a Face Book account but seriously thinking about either closing it or minimizing some of my friends. Many times FB can be very depressing and can make you feel even more lonely. There is a DS group on Face Book that you might want to join if you do get an account. Hugs GB

I had FB fr about 6 months or so. YES you can sign up for FB and you do not have to add any "friends".

When you sign up, you will be asked if you would like FB to go through your contact info and see if any of them are on FB. At least this is what I was asked when I signed up. I said YES to this which was a mistake. lol

So if you want to join FB but not add or have any friends, if it asks you something along those lines, say NO. :)

And when you receive a "friend" request, say NO.

But that is if you do not want to have any "friends" on FB.

If I ever sign up for FB again (highly unlikely but I sometimes think about it) I will not "friend" any of my family/blood relatives on FB. None of them. That was my mistake. I will only "friend" real friends on FB. :) Just because someone is a blood relative does not mean you have to "friend" them. :) If we are not "friends" in real life, I don't know why I thought FB would be any different. If a person treats you like crap or ignores you in real life, chances are FB will only magnify that behavior.

I have a Facebook account. I didn't know how to use it so I took one of those so called quizzes and had someone call me on it. Apparently the quiz went to all of my "friends" Kind of embarrassing.

I rarely read it. And I agree sometimes it can be depressing especially the photos.

So now I look at it every few months. I am not sure if I want to keep it.

I like FB for some purposes... Seeing photos of others that you seldom see is nice or reconnecting with old friends.. I've met up with a couple of people from high school on there

Playing an interactive game like Farmville is a good way to meet new people in a fun way

I played a game on there for years and made lots of new FB friends that played the game and I have friends on there from DS

Some people start drama on there and to me that's just nonsense that I have no involvement in at all

Yes you can if you want to. I had closed Facebook recently. I don't need to know what is going on in people's lives. If they want to contact me, they can text or call. I personally don't like Facebook, that's all

I have FB account, and agree, sometimes people post some depressng things, and it gets too "commercial" like email. I hardly ever look at my email accounts anymore. It used to be for friends, and now loaded w crap.
FB can get the same way, but there are ways to control what you see, you can also control your FB friends into different groups. You have to be careful about anything else you do on the internet, because it might report it back to FB. Like someone here learned when playing a game.
Because you can unknowingly sign into other things using your FB account. I've had a few friends embaressed by this. The only think I hook up to is Hulu, and I have to remember and be very careful with any comments I make, because it is my identity. The good side is I have reconnected with many old school chums and friends that I wouldn't see or connect with otherwise. I don't accept Friend request from strangers on there, and I also limited who I accepted from family. Because whatever is written is there for the world to see. You can control what can be posted to your own page though and not allow anyone to write on it. Good luck.

Yes. You can then search for old friends in Facebook's search tab to send them a friend request, and Facebook will present you with "people you may know" everyday.

Beware, because many of these "friends" will be using Facebook as their political soapbox, posting a lot of inflammatory, negative crap in your Facebook News Feed. Thankfully, Facebook allows you to "unfollow" a particular person without "unfriending" them.

To "unfollow" someone, just click a little right-facing arrow at the upper-right of a person's post, then click "I don't want to see this (particular post)" or "hide all posts from (so and so)".
