Loneliness Support Group
Loneliness is an emotional state in which a person experiences a powerful feeling of emptiness and isolation. Loneliness is more than the feeling of wanting company or wanting to do something with another person. Loneliness is a feeling of being cut off, disconnected and alienated from other people. The lonely person may find it difficult or even impossible to have any...

Everything & everyone is partnered with something or someone...my loneliness has emptiness as it's companion...

Mal, have you been feeling this way a long time or are you recently lonely and empty? Perhaps the time of year has made things feel worse - it does that to me. I know sometimes, when you feel deeply and desperately lonely, it can seem like everyone else has someone. You look about and think why not me? It's really not the case that everyone has somebody. There are so many lonely people out there. Lonely for different reasons, not just lack of a partner. You're amongst many on this support group. You can share your feelings and worries here. Perhaps that will help relieve your loneliness somewhat.

I feel this way a lot of the time as well.. and it sucks.. but people really aren't all "paired off' and happy... there are people out there who are alone too, and maybe that is okay.. Feel better

I've been stuck in this disposition for quite some time...

Well I hope you find some relief. Why are you empty? Other than loneliness. Are you lacking things to do? I don't know your situation so It's difficult to advise but if you're able to, I've always found taking care of my surroundings, cleaning up tidying, walking and writing can help me feel productive. Take care

Yes -- many are "partnered" but are they truly happily partnered? The most beautiful thing is to care for someone and to accept them completely. I am sorry that you feel lonely -- you show an excellent sense of being able to reach out (and connect).

Agony!! My two cute little kitties help me quite a lot. We can't "converse" but we can be present with each other and speak non-verbal love. I will pray for you. I know how hard it is when you feel like you have been boxed and stuck so long on the same path.

I get lonely sometimes. And it's nice to be with someone you love. But honestly, I tend to see a lot of unhappiness in many couples. When I reconnected on FB w old friends, I had 4, yes 4! old bf's call me and let me know they were unhappy in their current marraige. 3 of the 4 wanted to carry on w some sort of sexual relations with me. Luckily I am out of state or they'd been knocking on my door.

Just remember that even though it feels as if EVERYONE has someone else, it's not necessarily true and it doesn't mean they are all in happy, loving relationships. Learning how to be alone is a valuable skill because even if you're with a partner, you will be able to stand on your own two feet if it doesn't work out. Take this alone time to build confidence and strength. Nurture yourself and your own soul. Be your own partner for now. It will give you so much power over your life, I promise. Best wishes.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ
