Sounds awesome to me. Better than sitting alone and moping!

I will be going to the club alone.

It's our choice to give that day power or not. What is it really other than a marketing gimmick to sell products and make people feel compelled to do 'special' (buy) things for their apparent loved one?

To call this attitude cynical is nonsense. Dedicating only one day to showing your love and affection to a partner is cynical, surely.

But if chatting helps, go for it! I still get together with friends at Xmas, though I am not Christian..

Anyone who shows love for someone only on valentines day... Is weird. I don't think the point is to ignore your partner every other day of the year then shower them with love on the one day. Just like you don't hate the fact that someone was born every other day of the year buy only celebrate their life on their birthday.

Valentines day may be commercialized and a scam and all those other negative things. But it's just a day. Like any other day. And those of us who are lonely are still lonely. Even if we have someone special to share it with. Even if we don't.

Not much positive energy about this topic on THIS Loneliness Support Group. Just like with my post "Do U Want A DS Valentine?" The responses were negative, even though I stated it was just for fun & not everyone had to participate.

I think we all know that many commercialize or cash in on Valentine's Day. I think the point of the post is to avoid feeling even more alone on that day. Since we know that many ppl will be out with their significant other, celebrating love & some will be home moping that they're single.

I think the idea of chatting on that day is just to lighten up the mood. It's either u want to chat, say that u would love to, or if u won't be available, then don't reply.

sounds fun I was planning on just watching movies on Single Awareness Day anyway
