Loneliness Support Group
Loneliness is an emotional state in which a person experiences a powerful feeling of emptiness and isolation. Loneliness is more than the feeling of wanting company or wanting to do something with another person. Loneliness is a feeling of being cut off, disconnected and alienated from other people. The lonely person may find it difficult or even impossible to have any...
my best friend of 10 years has not asked to hang out with me before i leave for college not even once, im moving 6 hours away and we've always been very close. We considered each other our platonic soulmates and we've always been there for each other. I’ve asked him if he wanted to hang out multiple times and he’s always like “yeah I’ll hit yyou up when i have free time” and I’ve given him the benefit of the doubt. I know how life is, work and family and time to yourself; but he's been saying this since mid May/June. He didn't see me for my birthday like usual either.
I do have some sort of idea of what might have happened, but I'm really hoping it's not this. In February, we went to a club with him and his fiancé (they're swingers) and I was not feeling too good toward the end of the night. So, I went and sat outside the venu and laid down for a little because I just didn't feel right. His fiancé was off trying to get with a guy, and I just wanted to go back to our hotel. I complained a little, but ultimately I stuck it out the rest of the night and his fiancé ended up embarrassing himself anyway and didn't hook up with anyone. After we got back from the trip, my best friend texted me that his fiancé was mad at me because I "cock-blocked" him. So, I sent an apology, and it's been left on red since February. Ever since then, my best friend hasn't responded to my messages with the same vibes as before, and keeps saying he will contact me when he's not busy but hasn't for 2 whole months. I leave in August, and I don't want to leave without seeing him. I'm just so lonely, the rest of my friends are online and I'd hate to lose a friendship that I've invested so much time and love into. I don't know what to do, or maybe I'm just being too dramatic.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

It's been some time since my last post...sorry. I've been going through a challenging time with the sale of my home, purchase of a condo and my adult asperger son that lives with me. I've had days where I couldn't get out of bed, days where I stayed in my pj's and days where all I managed to do was eat, drink fluids and take care of my Sweet Mia kitty. Sweet Mia came to me from a shelter about...

Just act like normal, and see what he says. If he keeps avoiding you, then you can bring up the incident in February, but honestly, that was so many months ago that I doubt that is why he hasn't set up anything.
Sometimes it is better to ask the other person a specific day/place to hang out. We often wait around for the other person to make the plans. And they might be busy or whatever, so they never make the plan. You make the plan.
I hope it works out and you get to see him soon. Let us know how it goes.
Relationships change, they are not forever. This dude sounds like he has been forced to chose between you and the fiancé. Yes, it was months ago but it gets to be a pattern of avoidance and not telling you straight out the truth of why he is avoiding you. You can't make him tell you but you can try to be direct yourself. Try to call and leave a voice message instead of texting. Plan out and write out on paper what you might say so you can read it if you leave a voice mail or make actual contact.
And I think your friend sounds like he is avoiding you. If this person choses to avoid you or blow you off, you can't make them change. I am sorry. Sometimes people act this way. You could try asking him outright, are you avoiding me? At least he is not totally ghosting you, that shows me he does appreciate and like you but for some reason has pulled away.
Once you get to college, start to talk to a lot of different people. When you go to eat at the cafeteria, ask if you can sit down with people at their table but don't be creepy. I met so many people in the cafeteria way way back when but I don't think people are as friendly today. So join some clubs, do activities, be active. And study sometimes in the library. Make sure you study harder than you expect to need to study. Don't get stuck in your loneliness or the hurt of being dumped by this friend if it turns out to be an ending.
I also thought about how this guy may see you leaving the area as you leaving him. Not having the maturity to stick out the friendship. Some people are truly gone once we move away, if we are not right there by them daily or weekly they just dump us in their minds. We are gone and out of their thinking.
I wish you the best in your upcoming new life.
It's hard to let go of a friend, And your family by moving away to college. Your life will become So Open and new with people.
I hope you will take advantage of clubs, classes to find new friendships! Best of luck.
