Loneliness is more than the feeling of wanting company or wanting to do something with another person. Loneliness is a feeling of being cut off, disconnected and alienated from other people. Hello. I live alone and suffer from depression, anxiety and constant headaches. my family were abusive and I am still trying to heal from the damage and scars they left. I am very lonely and struggle to get through the days. I tried to reach out to some of the people I have met, at the church ironically, but they did not understand and have their own lives and families. I have been so desparate lately feeling so lonely and in so much pain I reached out to someone who judged me and called me needy. I have never asked her for anything. The anxiety makes the lonliness worse, and I am lost with so many hours to get through and feel that I have lost who I used to be and what I once loved doing. Where did I go?
I have been in counselling and the pain has been deep. So much grieving. I feel worn out and broken. Reached out to the church but the vicars there ignored me, making me feel worse. So I have come here to DS, because the honesty and openess is healing and rare. I cannot find this in the world I have been in. The functional, lonely, world of strangers.
I have read some posts and identified with the feelings and thoughts, and am hoping to find friends who understand and feel the same.

So mad at Xfinity! They're trying to charge me $115 per month for the same service I had been paying $50 the last four years. I took the equipment to UPS for shipping and cancelled my subscription today! Next door was a cookie shop called Crumbl. I had heard of it before but never went in until today. I don't need one more sugar fix, but maybe it will help with my sad) grieving heart....$15...

I know this is stupid, but after not being able to find a job after graduation for almost two years, I ended up just taking an online teaching job because I couldn't find anything in my field. I was trying to get out of teaching and I feel so devastated. I felt this crushing feeling when I signed the paperwork and when I was in the meetings. I know that sounds so dramatic but it is how I felt. It...

If you leave feeling very bad, and this happens often, the therapist can probably explain why this is progress, but I would try another therapist, and if that didn't help, I would try something else.
Music is therapeutic. So is journalling. Moving on to good experiences, and not dwelling on things that make you sad is helpful. Both running and walking at a quick rate, or any aerobic exercise makes you feel good. Being outside, walking scenic paths - you can try different things and make notes about what helps you.
About the person who called you needy. Some people need their space, because of their experiences. Good friends, a good therapist - helpful, but your determination to overcome your past, and move forward and make a good life for yourself will do more for you than anything. You get to decide who you are, and what you love to do, and how much time you want to spend reliving things you can't change. You're much better off not thinking of yourself as a victim. You control your thoughts. No one else does.
Wishing you good things, and that each day is a little brighter.
sometimes you are working with animals and people and the reward is great in helping both. Think about it and check it out. The city/town may have volunteer work and some agencies have volunteer work. Good luck and many hugs.
