That is normal. I agree that a sex change would prehaps be too drastic for you. As for me, I am a femme who is attracted to femmes. In a partner I want someone who views me as a female and I would like to view her as a female as well. I know this is almost unheard of but that is the way it is with me.

To Forra - re: femme/femme - I wouldn't say it's almost unheard of; it's just a smaller sub-segment of the lesbian population. I am femme and LOVE femme girls (I also love semi-butchy ones). You just have to search the femmes out... they're out there, trust me!

Being single again, I fantasize about how cool it would be if it were acceptable to wear subtle little signs that I'm Femme interested only in Butch energy. Some butches are into other butches and some femmes are only into femmes.

Fire, you are what I affectionately call a"beautiful butch". Totally what lots of fem girls, like me adore. The best way I know how to describe it is she has this rugged outward appearance but is still very fem on the inside.

My partner is definately more comfortable in the male role and thats what I love about her. We balance each other because I am definately feminine. I am just happy is she is ok with herself. Thats what I find beautiful... Ultimately it's your choice. You need to find peace with yourself. If you are comfortable with you it will draw others to you for your confidence. It's a difficult journey to find self acceptance and love. I struggle every day with it. Its part of the journey of life. Hopefully you can find a balance

You definitely have a point but like mez said it's best you know they are out there you have to find them... and as far as the sex change my sister made it clear she loves me no mater what but she'd rather be still be my sister who she can always run too instead of her brother who she can kind of hang with

Ms.Teri you make my heart sing lol being in college is the worst because that's when most kids explore the most, and girls look like girls unless they are butch and then you really can't tell if they are lesbians or if it offends them but you just don't want to go up and ask and be turned down. (or at least for me) and then if you do turn out to be their experiment which has happened to me you get so hurt....So aside from that then when you do find out that they are a lesbian you have to find out what they like.... then if they don't like that type your at square one again especially if you are kind of set... like me... i don't really go in between. A little sign a special bracelet.. maybe something less cliche then the normal rainbow stuff.. because alot of people i know where rainbow and are not gay =/ so extra confusion. wish we had special glasses and better adapted gaydar for women XD

ylime-You have all that right except im not fem on the inside at all.... it's gotten to the point where my friends acknowledge me of the man of the group. lol I had to learn my lesson not to argue with women.. they are always right even when they are wrong they are right... according to my "wife" (one of my best friends) I will not get a camaro or a motorcycle and that's it! :( I'm the "guy" who will go shoppin with you no matter how much it kills him and smile while doing it lol and do anything for you, give the world, I just don't dress like some of the butches i've seen around here... BTW all these compliments are making me mega blush... i guess i never found myself attractive because i've never had any girl compliment me.... and figure that's not what girls wanted that they didn't really want romantics anymore just the hard core kind of take over.. which i have those moments but i love my romantic side...your favorite flower on a day just because i can not because it's a special day, a call just to say hi during a stressful day or a text to say that you will ahve a good day etc... my jacket when she's cold, my arm around her when she's scared... etc

am- I am comfortable with myself... well i don't openly throw it out there that I am a lesbian to everyone.... only because I'm so reserved with the army thing.... and one time i did lose a friend because i told her i had a crush on her but honesty was my policy....and hat and there was one guy that could possibly give me a look in the other direction BUT ONLY ONE. but me and him were not meant to be... i feel even if i did get with him... i wouldn't be happy... because i want to be in my male role that i love....take control kind of personality if that makes since at all??? I accept myself.. i do get self conscience only because of college but I have more confidence than i ever did in high school so I know i'm on the up rise
