Kidney Stones Support Group
Kidney Stones are solid crystals of dissolved minerals in urine found inside the kidneys or ureters. They vary in size from as small as a grain of sand to as large as a golf ball. Kidney stones typically leave the body in the urine stream; if they grow relatively large before passing, obstruction of a ureter and distention with urine can cause severe pain most commonly...
So I was diagnosed with Kidney Stones at age 10 and have suffered with them for 21 years and counting so far. The pain can be debilitating, the sudden onset interferes with everyday life, and the mistrust from my employers can be devistating making it difficult to keep a job because other people use Kidneys Stones as an easy fallback excuse for skipping out on work or school. I have tried multipule times to speak with employers about Kidney stones then when I actually get them they don't believe me and require a Docters note to prove I had Kidney Stones. The issue is I don't go to the Hospital or my dr unless the pain is so severe that the Tramadol that my Dr already perscribed for Kidney Stone and Migraine pain doesn't touch the pain. Other then that there is no need for me to visit my dr or my local emergency department and put added stress on our already over stressed medical system.
I had another run in with Kidney Stone pain today lasting about 7 hours the pain was a 6 out of 10 for me, I called my work as soon as they started as the pain had already hit a 5 in a matter of minutes and I was supposed to be at work in 30 minutes. Later around 2:30 pm my dispatch requested a dr note. This puts me in a bad spot as I don't want to spend hours in th local ER to get a dr note and the possibility of getting an appointment with my family physician tomorrow or even within the next few days is unlikely. even if I do get in to see my family dr he will not likely write a note for my work because he did not see me when I was dealing with the pain.
So I am not sure what to do. I will attempt to make a "Same Day Appointment" to see my dr in the morning, but I will not spend multiple hours in the local ER pulling valuable emergency resources from our already struggling medicare system in my province.

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
