It is Day 13 of my jealousy sobriety. I had pasted stickers on top of pictures of women on tubes or lotions, laundry detergent. Any pretty picture , implying a threat. Today, as God may have it, the sticker came off It seemed obvious that my husband had used it. the sticker was not tight and came off. I had half the mind to ask him if he aw the picture underneath it. I stopped because I am trying to be sober. I allowed the rage, hurt fear and neediness to pass through, the pain of self-rejection and the anger in response to it to pass through. Then I completely removed the sticker which was hanging on and threw it into the dustbin.
i felt vulnerable. When I looked at the picture of a woman smiling, it made me feel bad about myself. I wanted to keep it away from hubby's sight, throwing it in the corner. But I know, he has already probably seen it. No point trying to control the external. So I let it be where it is. Hubby uses that lotion. So he may see it. Maybe he won't give a damn about the picture. Maybe he will. Maybe he knows my sensitivity and won't dwell on it. Maybe he will notice that the sticker is now completely removed.
Either way, who gives a f...what picture looks like?
I am a woman, wonderful, worthy and loving and lovable. So totally worthy of love.
He better treat me right and keep me!!;0

89FToday it is again another hot day but cooler then yesterday. Since this is August it is to be expected in my neck of the woods. All the grass is yellow and flowers are starting to go to seed. I need to water my garden but this time of the year I'm so over it, which is weird because all my plants have their fruit or veggies.Sandra, this time of year reminds me of your Dad and his toms. Now the issue is more about his verbal, emotional and physical abuse. As I heal jealousy, I have no tolerance for his abusiveness.
I need to know that he is sincere about treating me right and with respect and that he is making genuine efforts to change. Or I am out of here! I will be compassionate, kind, respectful and supportive while he makes the change, but I won't take it or any BS from him.
I pray you find yourself in a better place where you can also look back and say ive come so far...
I'm just wondering what the pictures are like on American toiletries that you feel you have to cover them?
What is it about them specifically that makes you feel so inferior?
Glad you are in a better place.
They airbrush those pictures so much because of the "selling" point of view.
When have you ever seen a commercial for spot/acne cream, and the model has a face full of spots? Never! The teen has a porcelain look about her which is so fake.
Like a catalogue of womens clothes for the overweight, they dont use the biggest of women to sell them.
Nor do they use the elderly to model clothes for the elderly!
Your feeling inferior to an image of a women that has been enhanced digitally and stuck on a bottle.
I hope you realise what pressure your putting yourself under trying to live up to that, no normal woman can compete with that.
You know what i would do next time you feel that way, get out a black and red pen and black a tooth or two, and put some red spots on her face! : )
You are absolutely definitely worthy of your husband's love and admiration and I hope you continue to learn that that's the truth over time.

Anyways when I first put the pics up I felt insecure when he would walk by them and would wonder if he looked at them etc., I probably asked him about it a few times but I left those pics up and the more pics I put up the more I realized that he really just would walk past them, it was in my head.
So then I put other pics up, like girls in bikini contests and I'd see him see them at first and I'd always feel uneasy but then after he walked by a few times he didn't even look at them. They were like any other pic on the wall.
