Good luck to you too! Success rate is very high for fresh cycles with donor eggs.

That's a quick bedrest timeframe. The last time I did a longer than suggested bedrest time frame just because I could (took leave from work) and wanted to just give it my best shot. Not sure that's why it worked, or because it was DE instead of my 'ol eggs.

Two of those embies sound stellar! I've also read that sometimes the so-so ones are the ones to stick, so it sounds very promising. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep us posted on April 1st! And don't forget to eat fresh pineapple!

As I'm part of a DE group that actually tries to have monthly meetings (most of us were successful), seems that all REs out here only have you do 1 day of bedrest if you do a D5 transfer. However, if you do a D3 transfer (which rarely if ever happens with DE), then it's 3 days of bed rest. I wish I could have done longer bed rest or even did my bed rest properly. I still had to get up several times on Friday eve to deal with situations with the kids, even though my friend was staying over to take care of them. I've also heard that the so-so ones are the ones that stick at times and so now I'm kicking myself for not having him just put all 6 back that he thawed. 2 were only 40% survival and not great quality so I'm sure nothing would have happened with them. The last one was 80% survival, hatching, very early blast (as opposed to just early blast :-) but it's too late now. I'm so hoping the shots are what will make the difference (as well as my taking medrol every night til the HCG test. I'm nervous but I know if you shouldn't put those types of thoughts out there and so, I'm trying to focus on the fact that I did get pregnant last time but it didn't stick and hopefully the reason it didn't was the shot. Aargh, half way thru wait...but will still be really busy which is good b/c I hardly have time to think about it :-)

Thanks Marilyn...I'll let you know how it goes. As I did POAS last time around and it was negative, don't think I will this time. First of all, I don't have another test and don't feel like buying one. Second, it's just going to make me crazy if I get another negative so might as well wait until Monday. I'd do it tomorrow and as that's Easter and I'm entertaining, it's just going to be too busy anyway.

My DE cycle was a 3 day transfer. I'm not sure why he didn't want to do a 5 day. Oh well, it doesn't matter since it worked.

Don't second guess yourself. I'm sure one of those little embies will stick! Which is better hatching blast, early blast or very early blast? I'll have to look back in my journal to see what my little totsicle is. I know it was frozen on day 5 and graded a B or B minus (I believe they told me one grade, but wrote another grade on my records that I have a copy of).

I've got my fingers crossed (and toes and everything) that you get your BFP that sticks on April 1st! Please have a great Easter and keep us posted on Monday!

P.S. I think it's great that you have a DE group that meets once a month. How cool is that!? Will you tell your children that they're from DE? I didn't think you were planning to.

I went on a list mid January with an expectation of 6 months to be matched....well, checked last week and I'm number 2! If the number one person wants to share, I would be first up. Really can't believe it happened so quickly. :-)
Only bad thing is I just started stims for my last cycle with my own eggs. If this doesn't work, I'm excited that I won't have to wait long for a DE cycle.

Very interesting that your RE did a 3D transfer with DE. Mine actually did that with Liam but that was in 2006. By the time I did my cycle for the girls in early 2009, he was doing DE transfers on D5 and only doing D3 for women who were older and using their own eggs. However, since your embie was frozen on day 5, it hopefully should have made it to the blast stage. Hatching is the best. Very early blast (means it's just started to become a blast), then early blast, then blast (or full blast), then hatching blast. Hatching means well, the blast has started to hatch which is great but labs now do assisted hatching too. Curious to see how much bed rest your RE has you do.

It's so hard not to second guess yourself...at least until you get that BFP! I'm trying to keep the faith- a bit difficult when you feel the same but, I always feel the same :-)

I have a friend who was on list for frozen embryos and that came up much sooner than she expected too. Maybe they give us the worse case scenarios just in case...
Good luck with your cycle...when's your transfer...probably in about 2 weeks or so if you just started stims. I've been there too ... did 2 cycles with my own eggs before moving to DE...couldn't keep wasting the $ on cycles with my own eggs. Good thing is, you can literally do cycles back to back so there's no wait time inbtwn.

I usually stim pretty quickly, so I think my retrieval will be next Sunday/Monday (April 7th or 8th) and transfer April 10th-11th. My issue is early miscarriages (two around 6 weeks) the fetus' just don't develop which my RE thinks is due to old eggs and I'm doing this last IVF hoping to find one good egg. If not, I feel good knowing I won't have to wait long at all for a DE cycle.

If you don't mind my asking, are all of your children from DE's? And if so, are they all from the same cycle?

I so hope you get "one good egg" this time around but if not, success rates with fresh DE cycles are very high. My eldest is 5 and he was from my first fresh DE cycle. Tried to give him a sibling with remaining embies from that donor but 1st FET lead to preg but m/c at 7th week. 2nd FET led to BFN and I was then out of embies so I had to use another donor. Got twins from first fresh cycle, chemical pg from 1st FET and hoping for one more from this next FET. I know of another woman who had to use 2 donors for her 2 sons. Some ladies are lucky and can get it done with 1 donor and others of us have to use 1 or even 2 more.
