Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Support Group
Irritable bowel syndrome is a common intestinal disorder that is characterized by bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, cramping, and constipation. Typically no abnormalities appear during standard medical testing, and so irritable bowel syndrome is identified by the symptoms. Although irritable bowel syndrome can cause serious discomfort, the intestines are not harmed.
I have been having bad lower left abdominal pain for the past week and a half. I also have pain that is underneath my ribs/breasts. I ended up going to the ER last night thinking it was a kidney stone or diverticulitis. I had bloodwork done, urine sample, and CT of my abdomen/pelvis and nothing. They did a pelvic exam and I had some pain so the doctor assumed it was some type of vaginal infection (no possibly of STD's!). They also said it could be my IBS or stomach ulcer. I saw my pcp and she essentially wasn't sure. I started on IBGUARD over the counter and flaggyl for any infection. I read that can also help with stomach ulcers. So medication wise i should be covered. But my pain has become worse and it's really bothering me! My anxiety I know is not making it worse. All scans were clear but I really wanted a definitive answer. I believe I definitely have hypochondria and IBS rears it's head during these times. But my IBS usually does not present with a persistent burning stomach. Wondering if stomach ulcer is more likely?

This actually didn't involve any cooking. I made a Diabetic friendly version of Peanut butter and jelly along with some fruit and microwaveable popcorn. So I used 1 slice of Sara Lee...
