Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Support Group
Irritable bowel syndrome is a common intestinal disorder that is characterized by bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, cramping, and constipation. Typically no abnormalities appear during standard medical testing, and so irritable bowel syndrome is identified by the symptoms. Although irritable bowel syndrome can cause serious discomfort, the intestines are not harmed.
have had depression, anxiety, psoriasis,
I am very familiar, too familiar with the complete lack of medical help in coping with IBS. I have had IBS for over 30 years now. Mostly I can maintain it. But there are always surprises.
( I have shingles now and my body is stressed so the IBS came roaring back).
Taking out any stress in your life will help alot.
Nutrionists have helped me, too.
Littlefeathers suggestions are worth trying...every time I have an attack I begin eating slowly again with homemade broths -veggie or bone, sweet potato, brown rice as she mentioned or crackers all safe foods for me.
Have you heard of the fodmap? It's alifesaver.
Question: wouldn't that be detected in a stool sample ?
Or would the Dr have to specifically order that test ?
The Fodmap I mentioned is listed online in many versions...I believe Monash was one of the first to share this great help for all who suffer.
Here's one I like
because it lists exact portions that stav off the IBS but still let you create dishes with your favorite things
( Of course, this is a great preventative food plan but is not meant to stop an IBS attack).
