It is quite difficult to be stared at by others in a hostile way. It looks to me that you and your bf are very much in love and you have managed the reactions of others before, but now the intensity of the reactions is up a notch and it is clearly bothering you. What about your bf? How is he reacting to this?
I will say one thing I have noticed however when I see other interracial couples........ there is sometimes an uneasiness on their part. As if they expect to see some hostility projected towards them and therefore their guard is up before anything happens. I'm sure this is due to the experience of having felt that hostility first hand so there is a kind of defensiveness sometimes that is sensed by others. Not saying that is the case with you but this is just something I've noticed.
I guess I would say you can't really control how people see you or feel about you so I think its best to just try not to make other peoples issues a problem for you. If they have an issue with you being in an interracial relationship that is their problem not yours. I know it can be annoying but you win by be able to be at peace even though they are projecting their own misery.
My point being, strangers don't know your status therefore they are judging you. That's what you are upset about. It's wrong, but most people are going to judge and gossipers also.
We don't have the right to judge them either and have to learn to smile and go on our way, happy in our own lives, leaving them to be miserable in theirs.
