Be suspicious of anyone who tells you not to do anything rash for that is akin to sitting in the middle of the house while it's on fire and lamenting about all you've lost. You wouldn't do that. You'd try to save your life, you would run out of the house and forget what you've lost. People would call you insane or crazy if you stayed in a burning house wouldn't they?
I'm not going to say that all cheaters are evil or bad but your wife did NOT have your best interest in mind when she cheated on you. Who cares what her "reasons" were. If she was unhappy, she should've have put on her big girl panties and had an adult conversation with you. It really is not that complicated.
Your house in on fire dude. Act accordingly and by all means see a lawyer which you should do without enlightening her. Actually it's best if you can get your ducks in a row and if you decide that's the way you want to go, blindside her. Some may say it's not fair but I imagine finding another man in your house was a bit of a blindside. Turn around is fair play.
The cheating spouse's only salvation when caught, is to go No Contact immediately, and serve the loyal spouse's needs.
When I first learned about my wife's affair I went straight home and locked down our accounts and anything else she could damage. We spoke off and on for a few days and I'd decided I wanted to keep the marriage going because of what a marriage means to me so I made her the offer-that I would do my best to accept everything, we simply get on with things (counseling and a separation, etc. but to agree to deal with everything and put the effort into making things really work) but she had to end things with the new guy ASAP. She said she didn't know how...translation=she wouldn't. I asked her again the next day but got the same response. I had no choice...I had to proceed and start a divorce. It's terrible but a marriage takes two.
