Okay. Let me clear the air by saying that my H is the one and only man I have ever slept with, ever even come close. After finding out about his A, I got tested for STD's, and the results came back positive for Herpes. It's quite devastating, but manageable. And it could always be a lot worse.
However, I am torn as to whether I should contact the OW and let her know. I urged my H to do so, and he refused. He also refuses to get tested himself. Out of good conscience, I feel she needs to know because she is obviously a carrier, spreading it to her other victims. But my counselor advised me that by doing so, I was opening up to the OW on a personal level that she doesn't need to be a part of, that my H needs to be the one to do it. As I said, he won't.
Any thoughts?

I am wondering though, how your doctor was able to diagnosis this during the standard STD tests.....I thought that the only way that herpes could be confirmed is from swab from an open sore.... i know there are other high-tech ways.... but that's just what I had heard.
When I was in college, my roomate was dating a guy who was quite the romancer.... after she found out he was screwing just about every woman at his job, she came down with genital herpes... I will never forget hearing her scream from the pain she was in.
She was so pissed that not only did she contact all of these woman and tell them, together she and the other women brought some sort of lawsuit again him. The purpose was that be forced to disclose his condition, as he had infected 50+ women. What an asshole................

Well, she sent me a email back this weekend, and boy was I surprised! Number one, she was shocked, and apologized profusely then said that she was going to get herself tested. But what was most shocking was that her letter rambled on about how all of her friends have left her, primarily because of what she did. Then she even had the gall to say that I am her best friend!
WTF?
I so badly wanted to say that I am NOT your best friend, I am NOT your friend at all! Not only did you participate as a key player in one of the biggest deceptions of my life, but there is a possibility that you gave my H, in turn me, an incurable disease!
But I didn't say that. Instead, I just sent her a short response, wishing that her tests come back okay, and hoping her luck with her 'friend' situation.
Then I went to my bathroom and puked. LOL!
I ran into the same thing after my EX married the OW/SPAM (my kids call her that as the imitation meat). SPAM thought that we could now be friends and all; she then emailed me to ask me to help her out with something going on with my kids.
LOL...Yeah, right...
So, I emailed her back and reminded her of the many ways that they can reach their father; likewise, I reminded her of the many ways thier father can reach them. 'As far as a civil level of communication with you and I? I am not interested in that and ask you to respect my wishes.'
That was my response.
