Hi I am suffering from guilt shame and also anger with my husband. I cheated him after 20 years of marriage no excuses to give but I am lost. I do feel I never loved him and it's make me feel so sad for him. I do have feelings for my affair partner and I cannot do anything still not able to overcome the loss. I am confused lost and really wish peace for myself and for my husband too. Pls advice pls help.

There must have been a reason you cheated on your husband?

If you say you never loved him, why not file for divorce?

Whether you end up with the affair person or not, doesn't matter. If you don't have the same feelings for your husband, and now it's gotten to the point of cheating on him, it would be the kind thing to do to divorce him.

I don't think you are lost... I think you have made your mind up that you don't want your marriage anymore.

I have been therapies now and I am trying to find my inner child as as per my psychologist I am lost and need to find my inner child my inner self and accept myself. I was treated violently by him in first 5 years of marriage. Afterwards as far as I remember it was ok but not very intimate or happy but common goal was our kids. Now my kids have gone to their universities and I donot know why I got involved with another person and just felt happiness and love. But becoz of my husbands threats and chasing behaviors , I left the guy I love still. I really donot know what to do as I have guilt , pain and also anger at the same time. I am suffering with no answer yet. I am trying to find my inner child though don’t really understand the process.

I want to be kind to him as I accept that I have given him pain. But at the same time I feel that Divorce will give him more pain as he doesn’t want that. I really have no clue what to do as I donot feel love for him I just feel caring for him.

Did you say that your current husband was violent to you and he cheated on you?
