How do you get over the fear it will happen again?
I really need support in this. Ive been with my boyfriend for over 5 years and found out after we broke up he had cheated on me. He said it was one time but I feel in my heart and from remembering things from the past that it was probably more than once. He didn't tell me, I found out by looking at his phone after we had broke up. I suspected it and needed to know. He denied it when I confronted him then came clean to me. We are back together but I can't help but to feel so uneasy and very insecure he's still doing it or going to to do it again. How can I trust him when his broke my trust? I feel like there is something wrong with me like Im not good enough. My selfesteem has gone way down and I constantly worry what hes up to when Im not around. If he did it before then I know it can happen again so Im on guard all the time. Constantly. I can barely live my own life because Im so worried he will do it again and that Ill lose him. Ive become kind of clingy lately and I feel he is feeiling my insecurity in the relationship because Im so tensed. I haven't told him it bothers me because he can be very insensitive and very defensive. How do I calm my mind down and not worry so much? It has taken such a toll on me that Ive become a totally different person. Please help.

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

I completely get what you are saying. I was cheated on, and 5 years later, I still think he will do it again.
I think it has to do with how much the other partner is showing you that they are remorseful, have changed, and are committed to rebuilding your trust again. Is he honest about everything, is he accountable, is he transparent (you can see his phone any time, you can look on his computer if you wanted to, etc). How devoted is he to rebuilding the relationship, etc. You need to look at all aspects of the relationship, not just the cheating. Is he giving 100% to you. Is he giving the same amount of work to the relationship that you are giving to it, etc.
It's hard, but you need to think with your head and not your heart.
Remember that we can't control what other people do. Keep your eyes and ears open, but as long as he is making the effort to be transparent and honest, then try to just believe him.
If you know he cheated on you once, there are half a dozen other times he cheated that you don’t know about.
